  1. Minor Details has been posted. The feature will be taking the next couple of days off, as I'll be out of town to close the sale of my Mom's house. If nothing unexpected happens, it will resume Saturday.

  2. Nice to see that USA Today decided their Money web page headline Why you should never to max out your credit cards needed a second set of eyes

  3. Sandwich podcast update. As part of the getting of my shit together health wise I decided to undo the breads and have settled on some flaxseed flat “bread” cardboard bs. The stuff inside now really matters. Today’s entry is a bit o chipotle mayo, romaine, Monterey Jack, left over hoisin ginger green beans, a slice of smoked turkey, and the chargrilled corn off the cob from last night. Winner winner turkey dinner.

    1. Man, that is just wrong. Eat the bread, go for a walk. Or just accept your fate.

Life is too short to give up on good bread.

      1. That said
Costco Ciabatta roll slathered with mayo and toasted
        Chevre with lemon thyme
        Leftover grilled portobello
        Lettuce

It was top-notch. Grilled portobello is sooooo good.

        1. I can't eat those anymore because of a food borne illness that had me both sitting and kneeling at the same time. Balsamic marinade, grilled onions, sliced avocado, jack cheese, toasted buns, barf.

          1. If it makes you feel any better, these late-occuring covid side effects mean I can't eat most things... I grilled these beautiful burgers the other night and to me they tasted like if garbage had died.

Actually, sandwiches are about the only thing that has been working consistently for me lately. That and sugar.

  4. I got up at 4am this morning to watch the progression from cancun. It was worth it.

      1. They needed a Prince, perhaps Grain Belt sign, and maybe “Fargo” for maximum snark.

      1. The duck duck grey duck is chef's kiss.

The hot dish reference pushes it beyond.

  5. Sad news from the children's book world. Both Eric Carle and Lois Ehlert (illustrator of Chica Chica Boom Boom and many others) have passed away.

  6. Apparently the onion headline about the only nation where these things happen is evergreen.

  7. Seattle Wolves anyone? Taylor claimed the new owners wouldn't be allowed to move but maybe that was a pinky promise.

      1. Just start fresh and pretend the whole thing was a bad dream. Never happened.

              1. 😆 Train of thought was...franchise moving...Dallas...Mr. (Norm) Green!, derailment.

    1. Taylor bought the team for $94 million in 1994 and he's selling for $1.5 billion. That's a total return rate of 15.9% if I did the calculation right. In that time, regular investors have weathered three significant recessions - the dot.com bust in 2001/2002, the mortgage bond collapse in 2008, and last year's COVID-19 contraction. Between 1991 and 2020, the stock market had an average annualized return of 10.7%. So with his Wolves investment Taylor basically outperformed the stock market by somewhere around 50% (again, I'm not confident in my math skills).

        1. What Sean said. (1+rate of return)^years gives you the multiple.

          94*((1+X)^27) = 1,500. Solve for X.
