I don't think we've talked about it, but what does everyone think of Donaldson's campaign?

Donaldson is campaigning?
I like it better than Tony Batista's. Or Phil Nevin's. Or Jeff Cirillo's. Or Brian Buscher's. Or Matt Tolbert's. Or Terry Tiffee's.
Terry Tiffee..... man, oh, man.
For those not in the know:
After tweeting about it May 26th, Josh Donaldson finally had a chance to speak to media Friday about pitchers using illegal sticky substances. One name that arose was Gerrit Cole, who will face the #MNTwins when the #Yankees come to town next week. https://t.co/W0D49owmmS
As long as he calls out Twins pitchers if they are abusing sticky substances too, Im all for it.
or at least tell them to use a better substance than what they have been
heh.
when did this become a wacky tabacky blog?

If baseball is suffering because there aren't enough balls in play, then MLB should absolutely crack down on this. It's a lot better idea than the silly move the mound back idea.
I think I saw a story asserting that several MORE clubs had installed humidors for baseball storage. Maybe standardize the storage conditions (humidity) for balls. If that is leading to more warning track outs in some stadiums, make it uniform. And players will adapt their launch angles to hit more line drives.
I think that we've seen this year that the idea that if we keep punishing the batters enough, they'll radically change the way they approach hitting is flawed.
I would bet that It's actually less efficient to rely on stringing together hits to manufacture runs than it's been in years. Making it harder on the hitters is not going to bring up batting averages, it's just going to cause fewer runs to be scored.
I would also like to see them make it so you have to take your foot off the rubber before throwing to first. This would make only a tiny difference in balls in play, if any, but at least players that walk would be more incentivized to steal, which would allow singles to score runs.
I'd love to see that rule changed. It's always seemed like such an unfair advantage for lefties.
I think that is one of the minor league experimental rules this year
I feel horrible for Rahm. Also, why tell him on camera?
I like Reuse's idea of having him go out first, alone, without anyone else around.
The way I read PGA protocols you don't need to be tested due to close contact if you've been vaccinated and reached the +14 days milestone. Which puts some of the onus on Rahm, I would think.
Oof, $1.6 million mistake, then.
It should be noted that I still feel bad for him. He was having a heck of a tournament.
He has 13 million already. He can afford freedom.
👍

If I'm being honest here I need to mention that I absolutely detest that song. Not because it's a bad song, no, but because I hear it every day played poorly by a cover band a half block away from my office. The only saving grace is that the band hits that song at 430 which means it's time to start wrapping up my day.
