First game finished in 1:55. Pro-rating it to a full nine inning game and that would have been 2:28.
Well done by Charlie Barnes. And good job by Beau Burrows, too, in his first game as a Twin. Too bad the Twins' batters hadn't come back from the all-star break yet.

I think the Twins are going to regret not adding Baddoo to the 40-man roster.
the only positive feeling i had when he got snagged in the rule 5 was that he’d get his playing time.
I'm not too up in arms about the Twins not protecting him. Its was a numbers game and looks like the Twins will end up on the losing end of it. That happens in the world of Rule 5s.
I'm more miffed that they gave LaMonte Wade up for nothing while keeping Cave. while that move gave Larnach and Kirilloff playing time in the majors, the Twins in a "win now" mode should have kept it's most polished and major league ready players. But this subject has already been hashed out many times.
Losing Wade Jr was definitely dumber than losing someone that hadn't played above A+.
Yeah. I mean, now, sure, I wish we'd kept Baddoo, but there was no real reason to think he was anything special at the time. The Tigers took a flyer on him and it worked. Good for them and good for him.
Did Rocco say anything about why Berrios isn't pitching today? I don't know that it matters a whole lot, but it used to be standard operating procedure to use your best starter the first day out of the break, especially if he didn't pitch in the all-star game. There may be a good reason why Rocco didn't do it that way, but I'm curious about what it is.

I apparently have higher standards than Cory. I can't see three runs in five innings as a "really good start". It's adequate. It kept the Twins in the game. It was good except for the second inning. But the second inning counts, too.
6 innings, even in a shortened game, should be the standard for good. Unless a pitcher has like 10 strikeouts in 5 innings
Dazzle is talking about the difficulty of pinch-hitting for "one of your star players". Is Sano one of our star players?
