The Saints are shut out.  A solid game for Austin Schulfer.  Rain was the winner in Class A.

TOLEDO 2, ST. PAUL 0 IN TOLEDO

Eric Haase hit a two-run homer in the first.

Batting stars:  None.

Pitching stars:  Beau Burrows struck out four in four innings, giving up two runs on two hits and four walks.  Ian Gibaut struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a walk.  Andrew Vasquez struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.  Chris Nunn pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two walks and striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Haase was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and two walks.  Matthew Boyd struck out six in 4.1 innings, giving up one hit.

Good stats:  Byron Buxton was 1-for-4 and is batting .389.  Jose Miranda was 1-for-4 and is batting .337.  Nunn has an ERA of zero.

Bad stats:  B. J. Boyd was 0-for-1 in his AAA debut and is batting zero.  Trevor Larnach was 0-for-4 and is batting .167.  Gibaut has an ERA of 7.20.

Record:  The Saints are 53-44, in second place in the AAA East/Midwest, 1.5 games behind Toledo.

WICHITA 6, TULSA 4 IN WICHITA

Ernie De La Trinidad doubled home a run in the second to put the Wind Surge ahead 2-1 and they led the rest of the way.

Batting stars:  De La Trinidad was 3-for-4 with a double.  Jermaine Palacios was 3-for-5.  Trey Cabbage was 2-for-3 with two walks.  Aaron Whitefield was 2-for-3.

Pitching stars:  Austin Schulfer struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks.  Jordan Gore retired all seven men he faced, striking out two.

Opposition stars:  Ryan Noda was 2-for-3 with a home run (his twenty-fourth), two runs, and three RBIs.  Kody Hoese was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Good stats:  Roy Morales was 2-for-4 and is batting .308.  Gore has an ERA of 1.89.

Bad stats:  Caleb Hamilton was 0-for-2 and is batting .198.

Record:  The Wind Surge is 58-39, in first place in the AA Central/North, six games ahead of Arkansas and Tulsa.
