A big game from Austin Martin.  A tough day for Ben Gross.  Jake Rucker keeps hitting.  Thirteen innings isn't enough.

ST. PAUL AT TOLEDO

The game was tied 9-9 after thirteen innings, at which point it was suspended.  It will be completed today.

WICHITA 13, TULSA 4 IN WICHITA

The Wind Surge scored six in the third to take an 8-1 lead.

Batting stars:  Austin Martin was 3-for-5 with a home run (his second), two runs, and three RBIs.  Spencer Steer was 2-for-4 with a home run (his thirteenth), a double, a walk, four runs, and two RBIs.  Leobaldo Cabrera was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer (his eighth), a walk, and two runs.  Andrew Bechtold was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his sixteenth.

Pitching stars:  Cole Sands struck out three in three innings, giving up one run on six hits and two walks.  Kody Funderburk struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up three walks.

Opposition stars:  Ryan Noda was 3-for-3 with a home run (his twenty-sixth), two walks, and two runs.  Devin Mann was 3-for-5 with a triple.  Miguel Vargas was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.

Good stats:  Roy Morales was 1-for-4 and is batting .300.  Funderburk has an ERA of zero.  Sands has an ERA of 2.93.

Bad stats:  None.

Record:  The Wind Surge is 59-42, in first place in the AA Central/North, four games ahead of Arkansas and Tulsa.

BELOIT 6, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN BELOIT

The Snappers scored four in the third to take a 5-0 lead.

Batting star:  Daniel Ozoria was 2-for-3.

Pitching stars:  Andrew Cabezas struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up a walk.  Osiris German struck out two in a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Victor Victor Mesa was 2-for-4 with a double.  Eury Perez struck out seven in four innings, giving up one run on no hits and one walk.  Cody Mincey struck out four in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up five hits.

Starter:  Ben Gross struck out eight in five innings but allowed six runs on ten hits and no walks.

Good stats:  Yunior Severino was 1-for-4 and is batting .382.

Bad stats:  Aaron Sabato was 1-for-4 and is batting .143.  Kyle Schmidt was 0-for-1 and is batting .183.  German has an ERA of 5.19.

Record:  The Kernels are 56-45, in second place in the High-A Central/West, 11.5 games behind Quad Cities.

BRADENTON 8, FORT MYERS 6 IN FORT MYERS

The Marauders built a 7-1 lead before a comeback fell short.

Batting stars:  Will Holland was 3-for-4 with a double.  Jake Rucker was 2-for-5 with three runs.  Jesus Feliz was 1-for-5 with a home run, his seventh.

Pitching star:  Casey Legumina struck out five in five innings, giving up one run on one hit and two walks.

Opposition stars:  Jack Herman was 2-for-5 with a home run (his ninth), two runs, and two RBIs.  Endy Rodriguez was 1-for-3 with two walks.  Logan Hofmann pitched six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks and striking out five.

Starter:  Miguel Rodriguez pitched one inning, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks and striking out none.

Good stats:  Rucker is batting .357.

Bad stats:  Justin Washington was 1-for-3 and is batting .174.  Misael Urbina was 1-for-3 and is batting .187.  Ramon Pineda made his Class A debut, giving up two runs (one earned) in one inning and has an ERA of 9.00.

Record:  The Mighty Mussels are 50-47, in third place in the Low-A Southeast/West, sixteen games behind Tampa.
