Bad starting pitching all the way through the system.  Austin Martin and Leobaldo Cabrera lead Wichita.  Big days for Alex Isola and Aaron Sabato aren't enough.

TOLEDO 10, ST. PAUL 9 IN TOLEDO (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME--14 INNINGS)

Ryan Kreidler hit an RBI single to finally end it.

Batting stars:  Drew Maggi was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.  Tomas Telis was 3-for-7 with a double.  Gilberto Celestino was 3-for-7.  Jimmy Kerrigan was 2-for-5 with a walk and two runs.  Ben Rortvedt was 2-for-6.  Jose Miranda was 2-for-7 with a double and two RBIs.

Pitching stars:  Chandler Shepherd pitched 4.1 innings, giving up one run on two hits and two walks and striking out two.  Derek Law pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.  Jovani Moran struck out six in 2.2 innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit and four walks.  Robinson Leyer struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.

Opposition stars:  Christin Stewart was 2-for-6 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs.  Spencer Torkelson was 1-for-4 with a home run (his second), two walks, two runs, and two RBIs.  Wladimir Pinto struck out four in three innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit.

Starter:  Drew Strotman pitched 2.2 innings, allowing six runs on three hits and six walks and striking out two.

Good stats:  Miranda is batting .327.

Bad stats:  B. J. Boyd was 1-for-6 and is batting .100.  J. T. Riddle was 1-for-2 and is batting .192.  Nick Vincent gave up a run in one inning and has an ERA of 5.47.  Shepherd has an ERA of 5.56.  Leyer has an ERA of 6.69.

The Mud Hens fell behind 9-3 before their comeback fell short.  The had the tying run on second with one out in the ninth.

Batting stars:  J. T. Riddle was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two runs.  David Banuelos was 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs.  Drew Stankiewicz was 2-for-5 with two runs.  Jose Miranda was 2-for-5.  Tomas Telis was 2-for-5.

Pitching stars:  Edgar Garcia struck out three in a scoreless inning, giving up two walks.  Kyle Barraclough struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Opposition stars:  Riley Greene was 1-for-1 with a two-run homer (his second), two walks, and two runs.  Kody Clemens was 1-for-4 with a grand slam (his thirteenth homer) and two runs.  Drew Hutchison struck out three in three innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk.

Starter:  Beau Burrows struck out six in four innings, but allowed eight runs on four hits and four walks.

Good stats:  Miranda is batting .329.  Tomas Telis is batting .301.  Garcia has an ERA of 2.70.  Barraclough has an ERA of 2.92.

Bad stats:  B. J. Boyd was 0-for-6 and is batting .063.  Banuelos is batting .190.  Riddle is batting .197.  Burrows has an ERA of 5.98.

Record:  The Saints are 53-49, in third place in the AAA East/Midwest, 6.5 games behind Toledo.

WICHITA 8, TULSA 6 IN WICHITA

The Wind Surge scored three in the fifth to take a 5-4 lead and added two more in the sixth.

Batting stars:  Austin Martin was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his third.  Leobaldo Cabrera was 2-for-3 with a home run (his ninth), a triple, a walk, and three runs.  Aaron Whitefield was 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Pitching stars:  Adam Lau retired all five men he faced, striking out two.  Evan Sisk pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Miguel Vargas was 2-for-4.  Michael Busch was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Starter:  Austin Schulfer pitched five innings, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks and striking out four.

Good stats:  Roy Morales was 1-for-4 and is batting .300.  Jordan Gore struck out the only man he faced and has an ERA of 1.74.

Bad stats:  Caleb Hamilton was 1-for-4 and is batting .196.  Lau has an ERA of 5.40.  Erik Manoah, Jr. allowed two runs in one inning and has an ERA of 8.53.

Record:  The Wind Surge is 60-42, in first place in the AA Central/North, five games ahead of Arkansas and Tulsa.

BELOIT 9, CEDAR RAPIDS 8 IN BELOIT (10 INNINGS)

A bases-loaded walk brought home the deciding run.

Batting stars:  Alex Isola was 5-for-5 with a home run (his eleventh), two runs, and three RBIs.  Aaron Sabato was 2-for-4 with two home runs and a walk.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fourth.

Pitching stars:  None.

Opposition stars:  Connor Scott was 3-for-5 with a walk.  Nic Ready (the son of Randy Ready) was 2-for-5 with a home run (his seventh) and two walks.  Kole Enright was 2-for-5 with a double.

Starter:  Aaron Rozek struck out seven in 3.1 innings, but gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks.

Good statsYunior Severino was 0-for-4 and is batting .368.  Anthony Prato was 1-for-5 and is batting .316.  Morales is batting .315.  Zach Featherstone allowed two runs in two-thirds of an inning and has an ERA of 2.49.  Ryan Shreve gave up an unearned run on 2.1 innings and has an ERA of 2.62.

Bad stats:  Rozek has an ERA of 6.14.

BRADENTON 22, FORT MYERS 5 IN BRADENTON

The Marauders scored in seven of the nine innings, putting up a crooked number in six of them and scoring more than two in four of them.

Batting stars:  Willie Joe Garry, Jr. was 2-for-4.  Jesus Feliz was 2-for-4.  Christian Encarnacion-Strand was 1-for-5 with a home run, his second.

Pitching star:  Kole McKinnon, normally a catcher, pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Dylan Shockley was 4-for-5 with a double, three runs, and five RBIs.  Jackson Glenn was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, and three RBIs.  Endy Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, and three RBIs.

Starter:  Landon Leach pitched 2.2 innings, allowing nine runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks and striking out two.

Good stats:  McKinnon has an ERA of zero.  Zaquiel Puentes gave up two unearned runs in 2.1 innings and has an ERA of 0.56.

Bad stats:  Misael Urbina was 1-for-3 and is batting .188.  Garry is batting .190.  Matt Mullenbach allowed six runs (five earned) in one inning and has an ERA of 6.48.  Leach has an ERA of 6.97.  Logan Campbell allowed five runs (four earned) in two innings and has an ERA of 7.71.
