Beau Borrws has a fine game.  Jordan Gore is having no problem with the jump to AA.  Louie Varland continues to dominate.  A three-run, no-hit inning lifts Fort Myers.

ST. PAUL 3, INDIANAPOLIS 2 IN INDIANAPOLIS

The Saints scored single runs in the second, third, and fourth.  The Indians had the bases loaded when the game ended.

Batting stars:  Jose Miranda was 3-for-4.  Damek Tomscha was 2-for-4 with two runs.

Pitching stars:  Beau Burrows pitched 6.1 innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks and striking out six.  Nick Vincent retired all four men he faced, striking out two.

Opposition star:  Bligh Madris was 2-for-2 with a double.

Good stats:  Miranda is batting .337.  Tomas Telis was 0-for-3 and is batting .301.

Bad stats:  B. J. Boyd was 0-for-4 and is batting .190.  Burrows has an ERA of 5.63.

Record:  The Saints are 60-56, in third place in the AAA East/Midwest, eight games behind Toledo.

ARKANSAS 10, WICHITA 5 IN WICHITA (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

Leading 4-3, the Travelers scored five in the sixth.  Jack Larsen hit a grand slam in the inning.

Batting stars:  Trey Cabbage was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer (his eighteenth) and two runs.  Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-4 with a double.

Pitching stars:  Simeon Woods Richardson struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Melvi Acosta pitched three innings, giving up an unearned run on a hit and a walk and striking out two.

Opposition stars:  Patrick Frick was 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.  Kaden Polcovich was 2-for-5.  Tyler Herb struck out six in four innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks.

Good stats:  Roy Morales was 1-for-5 and was batting .307.  Acosta made his AA debut and has an ERA of zero.

Bad stats:  Ben Gross allowed four runs in 1.2 innings and has an ERA of 5.79.  Woods Richardson has an ERA of 9.00.

WICHITA 6, ARKANSAS 4 IN WICHITA (SCHEDULED GAME--7 INNINGS)

Wichita was trailing 4-2 in the fifth when Spencer Steer hit a three-run double.

Batting star:  Roy Morales was 3-for-4 with a double.

Pitching stars:  Evan Sisk struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Jordan Gore pitched two shutout innings, giving up two walks.

Opposition stars:  David Shaeffer was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs.  Zach DeLoach was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fifth.

Good stats:  Morales is batting .313.  Gore has an ERA of 1.33.

Bad stats:  None.

Record:  The Wind Surge is 66-50, in first place in the AA Central/North, three games ahead of Arkansas.

PEORIA 2, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN PEORIA

Jordan Walker singled home a run in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.

Batting star:  Jair Camargo was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Louie Varland struck out eleven in six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks.  Derek Molina struck out four in two perfect innings.

Opposition stars:  Walker was 2-for-4 with a triple.  Wilfredo Pereira pitched 5.2 innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit and four walks and striking out five.

Good stats:  Yunior Severino was 0-for-2 and is batting .321.  Varland has an ERA of 2.10.

Bad stats:  DaShawn Keirsey was 0-for-4 and is batting .197.

Record:  The Kernels are 63-53, in second place in the High-A Central/West, thirteen games behind Quad Cities.

FORT MYERS 5, TAMPA 2 IN FORT MYERS

Fort Myers scored two in the first and three in the third.  The three runs in the third came on four walks, two hit batsmen, and no hits.

Batting star:  Charles Mack was 1-for-2 with a triple, two walks, and three RBIs.

Pitching stars:  John Stankiewicz struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  Matt Mullenbach struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks.

Opposition stars:  Jasson Dominguez was 3-for-5 with a double.  Anthony Garcia was 1-for-4 with a home run, his sixth.  Jhonatan Munoz struck out five in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and two walks.

Good stats:  Mikey Perez was 1-for-3 and is batting .500.  Christian Encarnacion-Strand was 1-for-3 and is batting .408.  Zaquiel Puentes gave up a run in two-thirds of an inning and has an ERA of 1.25.  Stankiewicz has an ERA of 2.70.

Bad stats:  Willie Joe Garry, Jr. was 1-for-4 and is batting .189.  Misael Urbina was 1-for-3 and is batting .193.
