Jose Miranda keeps hitting.  Chris Vallimont has a good game.  Sean Mooney has a better game.  Rain once again wins in Fort Myers.

ST. PAUL 8, INDIANAPOLIS 0 IN INDIANAPOLIS

Already leading 4-0, the Saints scored four in the sixth.

Batting stars:  Jose Miranda was 3-for-5 with a home run (his fifteenth), a double, and four RBIs.  Jimmy Kerrigan was 3-for-5 with two runs.

Pitching stars:  Derek Law struck out six in four shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.  Chandler Shepherd struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks.  Vinny Nittoli pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Robinson Leyer pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition star:  John Nogowski was 1-for-2 with a walk.

Good stats:  Miranda is batting .341.  Gilberto Celestino was 1-for-4 and is batting .304.  Law has an ERA of 2.66.

Bad stats:  B. J. Boyd was 1-for-4 and is batting .194.  Nittoli has an ERA of 5.40.  Shepherd has an ERA of 5.75.  Leyer has an ERA of 6.05.

Opposition stars:  Jack Larsen was 1-for-4 with a home run, his eleventh.  Matt Brash struck out six in 5.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and four walks.

Good stats:  Roy Morales was 0-for-3 and is batting .310.

Bad stats:  Berman is batting .182.  Adam Lau gave up a run in one inning and has an ERA of 5.08.  Vallimont has an ERA of 6.08.

Record:  The Wind Surge is 67-50, in first place in the AA Central/North, four games ahead of Arkansas.

CEDAR RAPIDS 5, PEORIA 3 IN PEORIA

The Kernels scored four in the seventh to overcome a 3-1 deficit.  Edouard Julien hit a three-run double to give the Kernels the lead.

Batting stars:  Matt Wallner was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Jair Camargo was 2-for-3 with a walk.

Pitching stars:  Sean Mooney struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on no hits and two walks.  Osiris German pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.  Zach Featherstone struck out four in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

Opposition stars:  Todd Lott was 2-for-4.  Colin Schmid pitched three innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks and striking out two.

Good stats:  Jeferson Morales was 0-for-4 and is batting .301.  Denny Bentley gave up two runs in a third of an inning and has an ERA of 2.08.  Featherstone has an ERA of 2.15.

Bad stats:  Mooney has an ERA of 6.23.

Record:  The Kernels are 64-53, in second place in the High-A Central/West, twelve games behind Quad Cities.

TAMPA AT FORT MYERS (DOUBLEHEADER)

One man batted in the first game, then the rest of the day was rained out.  It appears that the first game will be finished today.  Tonight's game will be moved to Saturday as part of a doubleheader.  The second game of the Thursday doubleheader has been cancelled.
