INDIANAPOLIS 9, ST. PAUL 5 IN INDIANAPOLIS

The Indians scored four in the third and four in the fourth.

Batting stars:  Tomas Telis was 3-for-5.  Drew Stankiewicz was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Ian Gibaut struck out two in a perfect inning.  Robinson Leyer pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Opposition stars:  Taylor Davis was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Michael Chavis was 3-for-5 with a home run (his twelfth) and two runs.  Hunter Owen was 2-for-5 with two home runs (his eighteenth and nineteenth), three runs, and three RBIs.

Starter:  Bryan Sammons pitched 3.1 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks and striking out four.

Good stats:  Jose Miranda was 1-for-5 and is batting .338.  Gilberto Celestino was 0-for-3 and is batting .312.  Telis is batting .301.

The Travelers built a 4-0 lead through six.

Pitching stars:  Austin Schulfer pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and no walks and striking out three.  Hector Lujan retired all four batters he faced.

Opposition stars:  Zach DeLoach was 2-for-4.  Jose Caballero was 1-for-4 with a home run.  George Kirby struck out six in 5.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks.

Good stats:  Roy Morales was 0-for-4 and is batting .306.

Bad stats:  Stevie Berman was 0-for-2 and is batting .179.

CEDAR RAPIDS 6, PEORIA 3 IN PEORIA

Edouard Julien hit a two-run homer to give the Kernels a 3-0 lead in the third.

Batting stars:  Alex Isola was 2-for-5.  Aaron Sabato was 1-for-2 with a home run (his eighth), three walks, and two runs.  Julien was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fourteenth, a walk, and two runs.

Pitching stars:  Sawyer Gipson-Long struck out eight in 6.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk.  Osiris German retired all five men he faced, striking out four.  Tyler Watson pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Zade Richardson was 2-for-3 with a home run, his twelfth.  Todd Lott was 2-for-4 with a home run, his seventh.

Good stats:  Anthony Prato was 1-for-4 and is batting .300.

Bad stats:  None.

TAMPA 6, FORT MYERS 5 IN FORT MYERS (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME--7 INNINGS)

Fort Myers led 5-2 after four, but Tampa scored two in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Batting star:  Willie Joe Garry, Jr. was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, his fourth.

Pitching stars:  Cade Povich struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk.  Logan Campbell struck out two in a scoreless inning, walking one.

Opposition stars:  Cooper Bowman was 3-for-4 with two runs.  Roberto Chirinos was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Starter:  Jackson Hicks made his low-A debut.  He pitched to one batter, gave up a single, and then the game was suspended.  The man came around to score, giving him an ERA of infinity.  He did not pitch Sunday and the Fort Myers season is over, so that's where his low-A ERA will remain for this season.

Good stats:  Christian Encarnacion-Strand was 1-for-4 and is batting .400.  Povich has an ERA of 1.13.

Bad stats:  Kole McKinnon was 1-for-3 and is batting .189.  Garry, Jr. is batting .194.  Misael Urbina was 1-for-3 and is batting .194.  Juan Pichardo gave up two runs (one earned) in one inning and has an ERA of 6.45.

FORT MYERS 3, TAMPA 0 IN FORT MYERS (SCHEDULED GAME--7 INNINGS)

Four Fort Myers pitchers combined for a no-hitter.
