  1. I'll be ending 2021 10% lighter than I started it. I was even lower than that at one point, but I've been holding steady for 2+ months now, even with Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I feel pretty good about that. The goal is to duplicate this in 2022.

    1. Chris Jaffe notes that Betty White's birth was closer in time to the deaths of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson than to today

  2. For those so inclined and able, there is a provision in the tax code for deducting charitable contributions this year (up to $600, I think) even if you do not itemize. Get your checks written and posted today.

  3. We just got back from off shore where the temps were 80 degrees and humid AF. We ended up being more towards shore and caught 60 speckled trout, 2 sheepshead (google sheepshead teeth if you don't want to sleep tonight), 3 bull redfish (I hauled an 18 pound fish out the water!!!!!) and a black drum. We tossed the reds and the drum back because our man said at their size they were not good eating.

We had a hell of a time, and I'm absolutely wrecked. Pulling that big red out of the water was something I'll likely never forget.

Now I'm off to fire up the smoker and to heat some oil for a fish fry.
