  1. I won't have time to finish "Minor Details" this morning--I'll finish it this afternoon. But in two games, Christian Encarnacion-Strand is 9-for-10 with three home runs, a double, five runs, and fourteen RBIs. Oh, and he also stole a base.

    1. They put that up on the scoreboard before the game today. Might have to make a trip to Cedar Rapids this summer. Although if he keeps hitting like this he won't be in high A ball long.

  2. My grandmother's obituary. She's been ready for a while (my grandpa passed 6 years ago, and time hasn't really mitigated how much she misses him - they were truly partners), and so while there will be a big absence our lives (she was a constant presence and bore a giant influence as a vocal matriarch in a huge family), with confidence in her destination there is a very different kind of sadness than I've experienced with most losses in my life.

    1. Sounds like a woman who lived an "ordinary" life that was anything but ordinary. You are in our prayers.
