David Banuelos has a big day.  Calm hits the Wind Surge bats.  Misael Urbina's good games are not enough for the Mighty Mussels.

ST. PAUL 9, IOWA 5 IN ST. PAUL

The Saints scored in innings two through seven, building an 8-2 lead.

David Banuelos was 3-for-4 with two home runs (his fifth and sixth), three runs. and three RBIs.
Jake Cave was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his thirteenth.
Elliot Soto was 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Michael Helman was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.
Tim Beckham was 2-for-4 with a walk.

Aaron Sanchez pitched five innings, giving up two unearned runs on six hits and one walk and striking out three.
Tyler Thornburg pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and striking out one.
Ian Hamilton struck out four in two perfect innings.

The Saints are 44-49, in eighth place in the International League West, a half game behind seventh-place Indianapolis, 12.5 games behind Nashville.

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS 5, WICHITA 0 IN WICHITA

The Wind Surge had just three hits.

Edouard Julien was 1-for-2 with two walks.
Chris Williams was 0-for-1 with three walks.

Starter Casey Legumina pitched three innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks and striking out two.
Osiris German pitched two shutout innings, giving up three hits and one walk and striking out one.
Steven Cruz struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up three walks.
Jordan Gore pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

The teams combined for fifteen walks, leading one to believe the plate umpire may have had a very small strike zone.

The Wind Surge is 13-10, tied for first place with Springfield in the Texas League North.

CEDAR RAPIDS 7, WISCONSIN 4 IN WISCONSIN

Leading 4-3, the Kernels scored three in the sixth.

Seth Gray was 1-for-4 with a home run (his eleventh) and a walk.
Kyler Fedco was 1-for-5 with a home run, his sixth.
Yunior Severino was 1-for-3 with two walks.

Starter Luis Rijo pitched 1.2 innings, giving up three runs on four hits and one walk and striking out none.
Matthew Swain pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.
Miguel Rodriguez struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.
Derek Molina struck out two in a perfect inning.

The Kernels are 14-12, in second place in the Midwest League West, four games behind South Bend.  The Kernels won the first-half championship.

TAMPA 3, FORT MYERS 2 IN FORT MYERS (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

The Tarpons scored two in the first and one in the second.

Misael Urbina was 2-for-4 with a double.
Dillon Tatum was 1-for-1 with two walks.

Starter Pierson Ohl pitched five innings, giving up three runs on six hits and one walk and striking out six.
Niklas Rimmel struck out three in two perfect innings.

TAMPA 7, FORT MYERS 1 IN FORT MYERS (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

The Tarpons scored all seven runs in the fifth inning on three hits.  The inning went:  hit batsman, walk, hit batsman, single, balk, single, walk, sac fly, sac fly, home run.  The home run did kill the rally.  Six of the runs were charged to Anthony Escobar, whose ERA went from 0.84 to 5.91.  The game was played in Fort Myers, but Tampa was the home team, as it was the makeup of a rained-out game.

Misael Urbina was 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Jordan Carr struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.

The Mighty Mussels are 10-14, tied for fourth with Lakeland in the Florida State League West, seven games behind Tampa.  The Mighty Mussels won the first-half championship.
