  1. When the power outages in Ohio knocked out a couple of their servers, my wife's team had to work a split shift to prevent overload of the remaining servers - 10:00 to 2:00 and 6:00 to 10:00. On Thursday morning my boss pointed out that a major project was behind schedule and had to get fixed because pushing out the deadline is not an option. So I worked all day and all night, went to bed at 4:00am and got up at 8:00am and by EOD yesterday had everything back on track and moving forward again. I haven't had to do an all-nighter like that in many years. I'm still way tired, but it was oddly satisfying to get that shit done in one long march.
