Minor Details: Games of August 17

Lots of walks and a walkoff grand slam for the Wind Surge.  Travis Adams pitches very well.  Two extra-innings wins as the Twins sweep.

ST. PAUL 6, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 0 IN ST. PAUL

The Saints scored three in the first and three in the seventh.  The RailRiders had just four hits, all singles.

John Andreoli was 2-for-4 with a double.
Michael Helman was 2-for-5.

Jordan Balazovic struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.
Evan Sisk struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.
Michael Feliz retired all five men he faced, striking out one.
Drew Strotman pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

The Saints are 55-56, tied for fifth with Indianapolis in the International League West, 11.5 games behind Nashville.

WICHITA 9, TULSA 5 IN WICHITA (10 INNINGS)

Aaron Sabato hit a walkoff grand slam.

Alex Isola was 2-for-5.
Sabato was 1-for-6 with a grand slam.
Cole Sturgeon was 1-for-3 with two walks.
Edouard Julien was 0-for-2 with four walks and two runs.

The Wind Surge drew fifteen walks.

Cody Laweryson struck out four in four innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks.
Blayne Enlow pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk and striking out one.
Francis Peguero pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

The Wind Surge is 27-14, in first place in the Texas League North, six games ahead of Springfield.

CEDAR RAPIDS 2, WISCONSIN 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The deciding run scored in the sixth inning on a balk.

Pat Winkel was 3-for-4.

Travis Adams struck out eight in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks.
Bobby Milacki pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.
Hunter McMahon struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

The Kernels are 22-22, tied for third with Wisconsin, 3.5 games behind Beloit and South Bend.  The Kernels won the first-half championship.

FORT MYERS 6, PALM BEACH 5 IN PALM BEACH (11 INNINGS)

Tanner Schobel singled home the deciding run.

Noah Cardenas was 2-for-5 with a walk.
Rubel Cespedes was 2-for-5 with a double.
Ben Ross was 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.
Misael Urbina was 1-for-5 with a home run (his fourth) and a walk.

Starter Malik Barrington pitched 2.2 innings, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks and striking out one.
Regi Grace struck out three in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and two walks.
John Wilson pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and striking out one.
Jackson Hicks pitched 3.1 innings, giving up one run on one hit and one walk and striking out one.

The Mighty Mussels are 18-24, in fifth place in the Florida State League West, two games behind fourth-place Lakeland, ten games behind Bradenton.  The Mighty Mussels won the first-half championship.
