  1. Seems like the Hall of Fame introductions have an awful lot of "unable to be here tonight"s, but I guess people do have lives.

    1. Interesting that they claim the Senators’ World Championship & pennants, but don’t really recognize any of the pre-relocation players.

      1. I'm happy they don't claim the players. Claiming the titles is probably an MLB rule. Are they anywhere in the park?

        1. If you sit in a box seat, there are awesome photos with long explanations of major moments in Senators history. The elderly usher was amazed as I marveled at pieces honoring Sam Rice, since so few local fans know who he is. This isn’t to answer the question exactly, but in that area, at least, the Senators aren’t merely a footnote in Twins history.

        2. The Nationals apparently claim all the pre-location Senators players, despite that franchise having originated in a different country and being the third team to call DC home. In fact, there are more former original Senators in the Nationals’ “Ring of Honor” than Expos and Nationals combined! The former Senators include not only guys like Walter Johnson, Sam Rice, and Goose Goslin…but also Harmon Killebrew, who is the only Senator in the Ring who played after 1948.

            1. Apparently the Nationals prefer all of the Senators to Vald Guerrero or Pedro Martinéz, neither of whom are in the Ring. Presumably Pedro isn’t excluded for only spending three years as an Expo, because they honored Iván Rodríguez for his 155 games (72 OPS+, 0.3 rWAR) as a National…

          1. That makes sense to me. The people who are most likely to remember Johnson, Rice, Goslin, et al are people living around DC. The history of a team belongs to its fans. Therefore, the Nationals should celebrate those players at their park to link to the history of baseball in DC.

  2. Hearing these audacy ads makes me wonder if I'm the only person in the country who doesn't have a podcast.

  3. If you'd given me several names, and told me to choose which one was the name of the Texas Rangers' manager, I doubt I'd have chosen "Tony Beasley".

    1. I came away tonight thinking that about Buck’s 0-5 with RISP. Neither is great, but Correa’s hitting nearly 80 points higher than Byron in that category this year.

  4. Pujols with 2 more homers today, needs 8 more for 700. And he has his career rWAR over 100 again
