  1. Went to see our friend in the icu on Thursday. He was awake and alert and made a number of jokes. A little after 8 pm he started to hemorrhage and nearly bled out. He was sedated, put back on a breathing tube, and given 38 units of blood. When we heard that we knew that we’d likely seen our friend awake for the last time. We went to the icu this morning to bring his wife and kid coffee and something to eat, and while we were there the medical professionals told us that he was in multiple organ failure and there was nothing to be done. They’re waiting on his mom’s arrival before they stop the breathing tube and let him die.

This also happens to be the 3rd anniversary of his son’s death. Terrible, terrible day.

If you can do so please consider donating blood.

    1. Very sorry to hear that. You and your friend's family are in our prayers.

And I agree, please give blood if you can. It's not a hard thing to do, and it is very important.

  2. I missed the first game, but Atteberry just said that out of ten innings (so far) today, the Twins have seen eight or fewer pitchers in five of them. Without knowing more, that sounds like a team that has given up.

    1. One could also argue that the lineup tonight is the lineup of a team that's given up. Yes, I know it's the second game of a doubleheader, but it's also pretty much a must-win game if the Twins are to have any chance. Yet, we have Arraez on the bench, Correa at DH, and Palacios and Hamilton in the lineup. Possibly Arraez is hurting to much to DH again, I don't know. But I do think our thirty-million dollar player should be in the field in a must-win game.

    1. Sanchez just forgot to cover home. There are only so many duties for a catcher once the ball is put in play.
