February 21, 2023: Let Them Eat King Cake!

I hope everyone has a rockin' Mardi Gras. Or, if you're in parts of the Midwest, a Happy Successful Frantic Hoarding of Goods Along with Dependable Power and Insulation!

    1. I've had far too many meetings lately, and I have a tremendous amount of work to do on two litigation files (cc: to DPWY/other attorneys - any tips on doing depositions? They've been few and far between in my career...), so hopefully the snow keeps the phone from ringing and I can accomplish some real work.

That probably doesn't quite qualify as "looking forward to it", but it's something.

  1. I've been waiting for their annual MLB deal, but I just saw that if you're a customer of the pinkish cell phone service that starts with a T, you can get a free 2023 MLS Season Pass today.

  2. I've got three, maybe more, Mexicanos doing asbestos abatement in the basement. They are really loud and talk a thousand miles per hour. I just started walking dpwn there to ask them to quiet up a little, but then I thot - hey - they're getting rid of my asbestos at risk to themselves, give 'em a break.

  3. Our kids’ schools announced they are going to remote learning Wednesday through Friday. They are also out next Monday for staff development. So, over the course of 10 straight days, today is the only day they are going to be in person.

    1. Our school district tried to do the remote learning rather than a snow day but the legislature blocked that earlier in the year. The superintendent had to send a followup oopsie no school email.

    2. Schools closed down here tomorrow as well since we're getting ice, plus they are off Thursday and Friday as well. I wish I were less busy at work this week.

      1. Public schools here in the People’s Republic have closed now, too — which is good, as it should provide adequate time for the 20-something assistant interim principal of the Poissonnière’s school to look up the proper spelling of “comradery.”
