    1. Oh, are these from Lauren's account? She's been posting these for awhile now. I think there's one minute 4K videos of them all out there somewhere too.

    2. I'm sorry, but we are not accepting "hot dog in a bun" as a "sandwich" at this time

What next, a folded slice as a "sandwich"? We need some ethical standards here.

      1. In my recollection a folded slice and a hot dog in a bun do not classify as sandwich unless the bun or slice has become torn in half. If said bun or slice were torn in half then you’ve crossed into the ‘wich zone.

  1. Do we have keepers? Didn't we end up not having keepers last year, and drafting fresh?

    1. Yeah, we drafted fresh last year. Yahoo makes it a pain to set up far as I can tell. From a time/effort standpoint, I'm fine with going no keepers, but I'm guessing some out there want them.

      1. What year did I draft Tatis and never get to use him? Was that last year? I think I want him back.

  2. I keep forgetting to ask so I’ll post this here in hopes of getting answers tomorrow. I’m with my family in Palm Springs. We’ve done the tram and a hike down at the Indian Canyons. Joshua Tree tomorrow and we’re here until Sunday morning. Contemplating a spending a day driving to Oceanside to get my annual saltwater fix.

Any places we ‘have to eat’ and what else should we do?

    1. I don't have much for food recommendations in either place, but here's some other things to do:

First, Joshua Tree is definitely the way to go. If you can manage to be there at night, and assuming it's clear, seeing the stars in the super darkness is amazing.

If you're looking for other outdoors activities, Anza Barrego Desert State Park is also cool. They are in the midst of a super bloom, too, so wildflowers should be great. You may get some of that at Joshua Tree, too.

In that same direction, seeing The Salton Sea is definitely an experience. I've only driven around there, but the abandoned housing developments are wild to see.

If you do go to Oceanside, there's lots of good beach options. We have usually gone to Tyson Street Beach, but many others are pretty similar.

If you're into wine tasting, Temecula is nice, with a lot of winery options, though I haven't been in years, so I don't have any specific recommendations of places to be sure to go to.

      1. If you’re going to Joshua Tree, stop in at the Joshua Tree Inn and pay your respects to Gram Parsons. They have a lovely memorial outside the room where he spent his last night amongst us. The dinosaurs from Pee-Wee’s Bug Adventure are in Cabazon, which is just off the 10. You could stop for a brief photo-op & stretch your legs before getting back on the road out to Joshua Tree. The massive wind farm in San Gorgonio Pass is really something, too. The route to Joshua Tree takes you right through it.

The Salton Sea is a must-visit for me any time I’m out there. I’m fascinated by the place. I’ll recommend Bombay Beach on the east shore of the Sea; stop in and have a drink at the Ski-Inn, and don’t sleep on their patty melt. Take a walk through Bombay Beach, look at all the crazy art installations, and check out the resident peacocks & art at the Bombay Beach Institute of Particle Physics, Metaphysics & International Relations. Walk out to the seashore and contemplate the beautiful wasteland.

        1. If you’re driving from Palm Springs to Oceanside, consider getting off I-15 at Rancho California Rd in Temecula, and driving the back way through the Santa Margarita Mountains via Sandia Creek Rd into Fallbrook, and then from Fallbrook to CA-76 on S Mission Rd/S13. The drive is gorgeous, and from there you can take the 76 directly into Oceanside.

    2. Thank you so much! Went in at Joshua Tree and just got out at Twentynine Palms for dinner at the Grnd Sqrl (https://www.grndsqrl29p.com/) - next stop, Joshua Tree Inn.

Tomorrow I look forward to the Oceanside trip and will definitely make the drive down to the Salton on Friday (calling for rain!).
