Game 122: Diamondbacks at Twins

T.J. McFarland vs. Bartolo Colon, 1:10 CDT

The Diamondbacks are going with the old "bullpen game" and are starting a pitcher who has been a reliever all season. It would seem like a golden opportunity for the Twins to sweep a home series of at least three games for the first time since opening the season by sweeping 3 from the Royals. However, I'm not overly confident in Colon getting deeper into the game than McFarland.

Also, don't expect today's game to start on time because of Andy MacPhail being inducted into the Twins team Hall of Fame. And I wouldn't expect Miguel Sano to be in the lineup in a day after a night game in which Sano left due to shin soreness.

Game 120. Diamondbacks in Minnesota.

Cleveland kneecapped any chance of winning a Division crown. The hope for the rest of the season is to pile stats and maybe stay above .500.

Another day, another new Twins player. Its really getting hard to know who is on the roster and who isn't. Its Kennys Vargas back up? Lew Ford? Kent Hrbek? who knows!! I do know Mitch Garver comes to town. Hopefully he gets playing time.

Ervin Santana goes tonight. We got a chance.

Game 114. Twins at Detroit.

Sweeping the season series against Milwaukee has done wonders for playoff positioning as the Twins find themselves back to within striking distance of winning an AL Central title.  Riding a season high 5 game win streak, the Twins are 3 .5 games behind Cleveland and .5 games back in the Wild Car slot (but who really wants a WC spot? I want Titles!)

The pitching matchup is a battle of mediocrity. Kyle Gibson goes for us, Anibal Sanchez for the Tigers.

Joe Mauer has been walking some more lately and has brought his BB/K ratio to 50/54. A week ago it was 45/54. Wek Mauer is getting on base, the Twins have a better chance of winning. Im sticking to that theory!
