2011 LCS, Games 1 and 2

St. Louis at Milwaukee (Game 1), 3:05 p.m. CDT, TBS
Jaime Garcia vs. Zack Greinke

Detroit at Texas (Tigers lead ALCS 1-0), 6:45 p.m. CDT, FOX
Max Scherzer vs. Derek Holland

I was kind of hoping that the ALCS would have the first game today. For whatever reason, I always thought it was funny when one LCS had two games done before the other one even started. Of course, that meant a Game 2 ending within an hour or so of the other series' Game 1 starting. Oh well.

I guess I'm rooting for the Brewers since they were the only team that I actually picked to get this far. I have mixed feelings for the Cardinals. I think they have a truly great fan base and I have the utmost respect for Pujols. Plus, they have Lil' Nicky. But I have nothing but contempt for La Russa. I have no reason to root against the Brewers.

Apparently, even Justin Verlander can't overcome the loss of Delmon Young.

ALDS Decider: Tigers at Yankees

Doug Fister vs. Ivan Nova. If that's not a matchup to let your season ride on, what is?!

Captain Cheeseburger, apparently, may be available. Verlander apparently is not. This might be step one for the amazing, world-beating Yankee comeback that allows Girardi to change his uniform number again.

I know this is a bit early, but I have a feeling I'm going to forget otherwise, so here you go.

NLDS Games 4

Uphill battles for the Cardinals and Diamondbacks tonight.

Phillies at Cardinals
Roy Oswalt vs. Edwin Jackson

Brewers at Diamondbacks
Randy Wolf vs. Joe Saunders

Fun and by fun we mean useless Fact: ERAs for the four starters tonight are 3.69, 3.79, 3.69 and 3.69.

Fun Fact II: Phillies and Brewers wins here would produce a rematch of the 1982 World Series. How many guys from those teams are still on those teams? I'm thinking less than ten.

Division Series – Games three and four

Three series could end today. Or, maybe none will.

Rangers at Rays
Harrison vs. Hellickson

Phillies at Cardinals
Hamels vs. Garcia

Yankees at Tigers
Burnett vs. Porcello

Brewers at Diamondbacks
Marcum vs. Collmenter

I'll be at the late game. I'm looking forward to being in a full house for the first time since the 2006 ALDS.

Oct. 2 LDS, Games 2

ALDS, Detroit at New York (Yankees lead 1-0), 2:07 p.m. CDT, TNT
Max Scherzer vs. Freddy Garcia

NLDS, Arizona at Milwaukee (Brewers lead 1-0), 4:07 p.m. CDT, TBS
Daniel Hudson vs. Zack Greinke

NLDS, St. Louis at Philadelphia (Phillies lead 1-0), 7:37 p.m. CDT, TBS
Chris Carpenter vs. Cliff Lee

The home teams have it in these series as all home teams won Game 1. I like these situations since any road team that wins Game 2 would be going home with a split and all the momentum.

The best matchup of the day will be the late game, which features to former Cy Young Award winners still in peak form. Of course, for the Phillies, this is their No.2 starter with a couple more ace pitchers in the wings, so if the Cardinals do pull this one out, they still have a long row to hoe.
