Think I'll try to clear out a few more 2016 odds and ends before 2017 stuff starts showing up. Watch out cause sooner or later I might start playing a bunch of the metal I started listening to last year.

Stevie Wonder – Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing
It's a fresh new year. Dust off your shoulders and go create something new.

The Walkmen – In the New Year
Happy New Year, Citizens.
This song came out in the summer of 2008, and for me it definitely captured a feeling of that fall and into the start of 2009; a feeling that feels pretty far away here coming from the end of 2016, but my hope and wish is for everyone here to catch a little bit of that feeling again in the new year.
Prince – Auld Lang Syne
Welp, what can you say? What a [tfb]ing year.
I won't go much further than that, as many others either will or already have for me. Anyway, grab a beverage, raise your glass, and let's all sing along with this old song that we only know a few of the words to, including Prince.
31 Dec 1987
I said it before, and I'll say it again: good luck, you guys.
I'll see you on the other side.
Bon Iver – 33 “GOD”
So I get one more "official" Best of 2016 video. A lot of my favorites have already been hit (other than people like Frank who have no live videos of new stuff yet), but if you know me, you probably know what we haven't played yet that's going to be at the top of my list.
Sturgill Simpson – Call to Arms
Okay, okay, yeah, this is an obvious pick. Truthfully, this is probably about my 5th choice. Played one, some have been taken, or nothing live exists (looking at you, Ocean & Cave).
It's a favorite of many here anyway, so figured I'd give it a spin. Here's a nice manic cut to lanch you into 2017. Good luck, you guys.

Fun little tribute buried in the middle.
Chris and Morgane Stapleton – You Are My Sunshine
This song has been around for 80 or so years, performed by everyone from Lawrence Welk, Bing Crosby and Gene Autry to Johnny Cash, Brian Wilson and Low. This version took my breath away. Producer Dave Cobb (known for his work with WGOM favorites Sturgill Simpson & Jason Isbell as well as Shooter Jennings and Stapleton) put together a compilation album this year called Southern Family which is where this tune can be found.
I heard an even cleaner performance of this on Fallon last month, but I could not find it online.
YOUNG THUG – HARAMBE
Young Thug's Jeffery was my favorite album of 2016, and Harambe was my favorite song. To me it's a perfect embodiment of the year that was... a bipolar drumbeat of aggression that's also a gasping, heartfelt paean to love, all in honor of one of the year's most prominent memes... it's perfect.
Japanese Breakfast – “The Woman That Loves You”
As the year goes on, I keep finding myself coming back to Psychopomp. It's an album that is over way too fast, but it's impactful over that short running time. I'm glad I got to see them this summer. They were killer live. I have another song below the cut because the video is awesome.

Mariah Carey – All I Want for Christmas Is You
This one goes out to a special someone whose Christmas wish we are happy to make come true. (I haven't actually managed to watch more than five seconds of this, so hopefully it doesn't fritz out at the end or anything.)
