Another favorite from this year.
Sorry for the tardiness. Didn't have a chance to schedule anything, and had to rush out the door this morning. At least I got all of the tags right today, I think.

An excellent start for Jose Martinez. Too many missed opportunities for the DSL Twins. Only one game was actually played.

No players with connections to the Twins appear to have been born on this day.
Time to reset and start playing near-meaningless games unless this team decides it can go on a run.
Here's pretty much all you need to know:
AL:
Kurt Suzuki, C, Minnesota Twins
Glen Perkins, LHP, Minnesota Twins
NL:
Carlos Gomez, OF, Milwaukee Brewers
Pat Neshek, RHP, St. Louis Cardinals
But the real Minnesota star? Target Field. You're freakin' awesome, girl -- strut your stuff.
Fine starts for Tyler Duffey and Tim Shibuya. Danny Santana starts his rehab in Fort Myers. Enjoy your all-star game, because there's not much happening in the minor leagues today.

We would also like to wish a very happy birthday to brianS, kg2005, and Mom Beau.
This'll be the first one in Minnesota since baseball was on my radar (I started watching in about mid-'86). I don't ask much - just a Suzuki homer, a Perkins save, three Jeter strikeouts and the stunning return of Kirby Puckett.

Skip to 50 seconds to avoid babble.
mewithoutYou are a fairly different sort of band, and this is a different sort of video. Accordions, harps, and dancing white dudes are prevalent here, and the song itself sort of eschews their usual aesthetic, which was originally a sort of abrasive, lyrical post-hardcore sound. Aaron Weiss is one of my favorite lyricists, and the album which this song appears on (Brother, Sister) is one of my "desert island" albums.
Lord, those dancing people are obnoxious. I enjoy this performance of the song, though, so this is what you get.
