Game 154: Twins vs Hangovers

Congrats to the 2023 Twins. We all believed in you the whole time! Definitely there were none of us despairing and thinking that the team should be sellers after a horrible series in Baltimore. No, sir.

Erm.

Back in the day, this would've been the last game of the regular season. We've still got a few left to go, though. With no reasonable shot at the second seed, I'm mostly rooting for the Mariners to make the playoffs and for some of the fun individual milestones around the league (holy cow, Acuña).

Today, everybody on the hometown team just needs to take an aspirin, chug their electrolyte of choice, and see if they can finish the season on this hot streak that they've been on.

2019 Game Log 47: Minnesota Twins at LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAngels

Ahh, that bit never gets old... (right? RIGHT!?)

Odoreater's out there tonight, his scoreless streak recently snapped, but has still been more than capable of late. Angels are going with an opener in Cole before they bring in Pena. Hopefully we can make them regret that.

I still feel like the Angels are a better team than their record shows, so I'm hoping for a good series on their turf. It's the Twins' fault for starting to make me expect it.

2019 Game 40: LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAngels vs. Minnesota Twins

Happy Berríos Day!

After splitting the series with Detroit (which admittedly was a disappointment), an even more capable team in the Angels are coming to town. The Twins have .650 winning percentage at Target Field this year, but have split the games when the Angels have stopped by.

Hopefully Cron and Parker will look to extract some revenge against their old team. Cruz has whipped out his Boomstick 50 times against the Angels (good for 2nd most against them as a team), but he's day to day with his wrist is being evaluated. Hopefully we can find another dong masher or two on the team in the meantime.

On the mound for the Angels is Skaggs, whose numbers don't look all that great this year (3-3, 4.70 ERA, 1.37 WHIP). Maybe we can find some of that missing offense tonight.

Finally, don't forget, we're still on 1840 start times. Some of the senior citizens around here can get to bed a little earlier.

*** No FSN, National TV game FS1 ***

Happy Byron Buxton Day! He off the DL and back in the lineup which means Robbie Grossman exits the OF woo wooo! Is there a Statcast breakdown on OFers arms? Because it sure seems like Grossman has a noodle arm out there.

Also Happy Berrios Day........

HAPPY BUXTERRIOS DAY!

All this excitement has to result in a win for our favorite baseballers (although the Angles are no slouch of team with 22 wins so far this year)

2017 Game 82: Anaheim Angels v. Minnesota Twins

Sorry, don't have a lot of time so a couple quick points as we plunge into the 2nd half:
-Sano had the lead in All-Star voting but lost it at the last moment. Santana and he will represent the Twins this year.
-Meyer (whom I'm sure you know is having a decent year) is facing off against Mejia for the second time this year. Neither figured in the decision their first time.
-That's it. I just said "a couple".

Game 51. Twins at Anaheim

The Angels mind as well be called the Twins of the West. FIVE former Twins are on the roster: Ben Revere, Shane Robinson, Ricky Nolasco, Alex Meyer, and Delios Guerra. And you know what, there is not a lot of hand wringing and blog columns upset over not having those players. Ok, maybe Alex Meyer because the Twins have no pitching right now.  There will be no "David Ortiz should still be a Twin" column for any of those players.

Kyle "Im surprised he is still a Twin and not with the Angels" Gibson on the mound for the locals,  JC "not Romero" Ramirez for the Angels.
