I bet a sorcerer would pledge to the WGOM. Why haven't you?

C'mon, cheaptoy, that's 2 metal ("metal"? "metal?"?) bands in one week. On Pledge Drive week no less! You can't say your interests aren't represented.

Huh, I'm surprised I haven't heard of these guys before.
Hmm... what's visual kei? That's potential rabbit hole material right there.
Where's that cheaptoy signal?

Happy birthday, Dino!
As per usual, I listened to a lot of new music this year. Only problem is that it was only new to me. But! I did listen some stuff actually released this year. I definitely had a year of somewhat cheesy power metal, so my favorite from the past 12 months was the second album, Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards, from an awesome band I recently discovered:

After agreeing to do this, I remembered I have only heard one new thing from 2013. I picked up Within the Frozen Design by Winter Storm because it sounded interesting and I have entirely too few albums and bands based around winter. Also, this is pretty good stuff and a change of pace within the symphonic metal realm from bands like Epica and Nightwish. (sorry about the lack of live-ness of this video. It was the only video from the band I could find. Also, that is the drummiest looking drummer I have ever seen.)

This has cheap and e-6 bait rolled into one clip and perfectly half baked to AMR's droning taste. This isn't my normal bag, but I'm kind of hooked on these folks.
My big brother had an awesome record collection when I was a kid. He'd get jobs flipping burgers or whatever so he could spend the money on albums. When he was out working or at football or band practice, I'd sneak into his room and listen to them. I got acquainted with a lot of great music that way. Thanks, Bro. And sorry about the sneakin'.
