SAINTS 8, CLIPPERS 1 IN COLUMBUS

Royce Lewis homered in a three-run fourth that broke a 1-1 tie.

Lewis was 3-for-4 with two home runs, his second and third.
Chris Williams was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and three RBIs.
Tyler White was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs, and two RBIs.
Matt Wallner was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Aaron Sanchez struck out five in five innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks.
Kody Funderburk struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.
Austin Schulfer pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.
Patrick Murphy struck out two in a scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

TRAVELERS 14, WIND SURGE 10 IN WICHITA

Spencer Packard's three-run double highlighted a four-run fifth that put Arkansas ahead 10-7.

Jake Rucker was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fifth), a double, a walk, and three runs.
Yunior Severino was 2-for-4 with a walk.

Starter Marco Raya pitched three shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.

FLYING TIGERS 7, MIGHTY MUSSELS 6 IN LAKELAND

Carlos Aguiar hit a three-run triple in the seventh to tie it 6-6, but Jose De La Cruz singled home a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Aguiar was 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs.

Starter Andrew Morris pitched two innings, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks and striking out three.
Samuel Perez pitched two perfect innings, striking out one.

Brent Headrick struck out seven in six innings, giving up two runs on four hits.

WIND SURGE 6, TRAVELERS 2 IN WICHITA

Anthony Prato hit a two-run homer in the third to break a scoreless tie.  Wichita then scored single runs in innings five through eight.

Armani Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

David Banuelos hit a home run, his third.
Prato hit a two-run homer.

Blayne Enlow struck out ten in 5.1 innings, giving up one run on six hits.
Andrew Cabezas retired all four men he faced, striking out three.

KERNELS 6, CHIEFS 4 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Emmanuel Rodriguez homered in the third to break a 3-3 tie and Cedar Rapids led the rest of the way.

Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-3 with a walk.
Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and a walk.

Jaylin Nowlin pitched six innings, giving up three runs on five hits and striking out four.
Miguel Rodriguez struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

MIGHTY MUSSELS 2, FLYING TIGERS 1 IN LAKELAND

Mikey Perez hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth to break a 1-1 tie.

Perez was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Rubel Cespedes was 2-for-5.

Starter C. J. Culpepper pitched a perfect inning striking out one.  He was removed after a rain dealy.
Ricky Mineo struck out three in 2.2 innings, giving up one run on four hits.
Jarret Whorff pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  That was the only walk any of the Twins' affiliates allowed yesterday.
Zach Veen struck out four in two perfect innings.

Peoria led 5-0 after three.  Cedar Rapids scored all their runsin the fifth.

Kyler Fedco hit a two-run homer.

Pierson Ohl pitched four innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and striking out five.
John Stankiewicz pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Niklas Rimmel struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits.

FLYING TIGERS 7, MIGHTY MUSSELS 1 IN LAKELAND

Lakeland scored five in the second and led 7-0 after three.

No Fort Myers batter had more than one hit.  They had five total.

Starter Develson Aria pitched 1.2 innings, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks and striking out five.
Danny Moreno pitched three shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks and striking out two.

Cedar Rapids scored four in the seventh to take a 6-1 lead.  Peoria had the tying run on third when the game ended.

Orlando Rodriguez pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks.

Quad Cities scored single runs in the first, third, and fifth.

Noah Cardenas was 2-for-3.

Pierson Ohl pitched a six-inning complete game, giving up three runs on nine hits and no walks and striking out four.

KERNELS 4, RIVER BANDITS 2 IN QUAD CITIES* (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

*The game was played in Quad Cities, but it was a makeup of a game scheduled for Cedar Rapids that had been rained out, so Cedar Rapids batted last.

Cedar Rapids scored two in the first and two in the third.

Minor Details: Where They Stand: May 9

The St. Paul Saints are 18-13, in third place in the International League West, one game behind first-place Memphis.  They are a half-game behind second-place Iowa.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 10-17, in fifth (last) place in the Texas League North, seven games behind first-place Tulsa.  They are three games behind fourth-place Springfield.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are 13-13, in fourth place in the Midwest League West, three games behind first-place Beloit.  They are 1.5 games behind second-place Peoria and South Bend.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are 13-14, in fourth place in the Florida State League West, eight games behind first-place Clearwater.  They are two games behind first-place Dunedin.
