Hard to say who gets the nod tonight. The Twins finally won a 1-run game, so maybe some regression to the mean in that category has started. Chairman Mauer brings a 10-game hitting streak back to Target Field, the boys are playing competitive baseball and there are enough reasons to think this team is not a lost cause if they can just keep their most productive players healthy and on the field for an extended period.
Yohan Pino (0-1, 6.30 ERA) takes the Target Field mound for the Twins tonight, while Kansas City counters with southpaw Danny Duffy (4-7, 2.69 ERA). Play ball!
That record with that ERA had me double-checking to make sure it wasn't a typo. Pitcher W-L records are bogus.
Ooh, I see the ump is starting off early with the terrible strike zone. Yay.
nice "strike three" to Dozier *rolleyes*
Double over Parmelee's head for two runs. Who here didn't see that coming?
It wouldn't have been over his head if he'd been playing CF.
"exaggerated winky-face.gif"
Same comment applies to Willingham and pretty much any other non-Hicks OF.
Double past Parmelee's dive. Who here didn't see that coming?
This game went downhill in a hurry.
8 run inning?
Maybe if they can get Duffy out of the game.
But probably not even then.
Parms earns back a double.
Great at bat by CCPP.
I like the cut of this inning's jib.
Welp, its not 8 but at least we are on the board!
The Lord giveth, and the pitching staff giveth back.
this home plate umpire has had a sketchy strike zone.
Parms' swing looks nice today.
Time for him to take it into the field.
Well, now that he's playing his natural position...
Yes, obviously have Arcia pinch hit against the lefty.
Bert on this pitcher Bueno "hes been out of baseball a few years. Played in Mexico" (lists towns)
so the Mexican League is not real baseball?
Gotta forgive him -- Bert's been out of baseball a few years.
load 'em up for Joe.
oooh, Dozier juuust missed that pitch.
dang, nice play by Moustakis
fan catches a foul ball Mauer was going for. The section boos the fan. hahaha
Joe's reaction was pure "Son, I'm not mad, just disappointed".
holy crap, Dozier!
Slow down, Dozer.
Double gets by Parmelee. Who here didn't see that coming?
Whelp, that sucked.
Would this be considered a June Swoon? Those end when June ends, right? *hopes against hope*
The
SeptemberJune that never ended.Provus points out that several times the Twins have mounted rallies late in the ballgame; I point out that these were against late inning mop-up relievers.
Soria excepted.
