Oslo, Norway, 2014
A big shout-out to Will Oldham for making me aware of the dark ambient music of Norwegian artist Helge Sten, who goes by the moniker Deathprod. The whole of "Treetop Drive" is three movements that clock in at over a half an hour. This is a truncated version. This became one of my favorite pieces to paint to last winter. I also nicked part of it for a short film I put together last Fall.

Not that anyone has tried yet, but if you watch this from the front page you have two sit through a two-minute interview in Norwegian. If you click on the video page link, it skips that. DG/Mak may or may not like this. AMR should watch the Oldham clip that led me to this artist. The rest of you, carry on with your day. 😉
10/10. Yay for ambient noise!
I did watch most of the Oldham clip and went off to download it.
I'll let you know what I think.
I'm listening now. It reminds me a lot of what Seefeel distilled into five minutes on their "Utreat", which first came out a year afterwards.
A slightly shorter version, "Utreat (complete)" was also included on their final (pre-hiatus) album, which was more a mini-album or long EP:

I first realized today that the versions were not identical.
I'll admit, this was unexpected.
