I started listening to PJ Harvey in the very early 2000s . . . which was probably 5 years later than I should have.
I think I listened from 1995-98.
Start: She opened for Live on their "Throwing Copper" Summer Tour (along with Veruca Salt). She wore shorts and a bra and a cowboy hat and had a banana in each pocket that she treated like 6-shooters. She threw the bananas into the crowd early on in her set.
I found To Bring You My Love used at Ernie November's (MKTO) and bought it. I watched her duet with Tricky on Dave Letterman (singing Tricky's "Broken Homes").
End: I bought the single "Perfect Day Elise" but not its album. No real reason, but I just wasn't invested enough to keep following.
"C'mon Billy" was featured on a mix CD that I made for EAR when she was pregnant.
