Our current guys didn't make it, but some of our former guys did.  If you're looking for a reason to root for someone, maybe this will help.  Note that this list is based on active rosters as of the end of the season.  Some of these players may not be on the playoff roster.

  1. LEW! and JI

JIM THOME are both on the O's. I know where my loyalties lie. Cincinnati in the NL cuz they've been my NL team since forever.

    1. Just confirms that As and Os are my top rooting interest. Glad that there's a chance they could meet in ALCS rather than WC Play-in.

      Also: AL teams playing:
      As, Os, Ys, Ts, Rs

      NL teams playing:
Bs, Reds, Cs, Ns, and Gs.

So, we've got nine letters and a color.

    1. No Nick "Shredder" Punto this year, though.
What's your beef with Lohse? Is it just that you're in Cards Country?

      1. I'm rooting for all the ex-Twins. Well, _elm_n excepted, perhaps. Him I'm pretty much indifferent on.

But it amuses me to see Neck Fat succeed for Los Gigantes; I root hard for Neshek (and hope he will be back this year) and am happy for The Declaration. How can't you root for the R.A. Dickey Story? Of course I root for Twitchy. I growl inside every time JJ Hardy does something worthwhile, but not at JJ. I root quietly for Lyle. And Tomei -- everyone wants to see dongers jacked up.

        1. I'm not terribly surprised that Neck Fat has been successful. I thought, given the relative weakness of the bullpen heading into this season, cutting bait on him over $800k was pretty foolish. I mean, the pen ended up okay. And maybe he was a locker room cancer (an idea further advanced by the Royals trading him despite his cheapness), but I dunno. I never understood the move. And I never hated the guy.
