You can have our rain, spooks. I dumped 3" from our raingauge, and I didn't even put it out until just a week ago. They've partially closed one of our hwys here, and we're going to have flooding, for sure.
But the lawn looks good for now at least.
I want that, man. There have been two legitimate downpours in my two and a half years here, and there isn't much that makes me instantly happier than a good old thunderstorm. We average six inches of precipitation a year. It's dull.
Then I dedicate this song to you, RR:

Ozzie isn't arguing balls and strikes, he's arguing you suck.
Nah, he was arguing that it was a c***-sucking call.
Am going down into the lair of the yanquis for a little bike ride through the boroughhood. Wish me luck, brothers.
Holy carp. Free, tell me you saw this Chelsea-Spurs match.
I did (at least the 2nd half). Nice to see domination on the offensive side actually result in a goal
At least one of them...
One day left until the MS Walk. Still time to donate to help Can of Corn, Sheenie and myself fight MS.
Thome back in the lineup and Tolbert in for Casilla (no surprise). Cuddy at second and another all-left-handed outfield despite Sean O'Sullivan having a pretty severe reverse split for his career and very severe on the season.
Today, Ive seen a bunch of birds in my backyard that I seen back there before: Northern Flicker, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and a Yellow-headed Blackbird. Its been such a boring day today, that thats been the highlight so far
You live in Madelia, right? (excuse me if I've got the wrong citizen, I can't find the old map).
I like yellow-headed blackbirds. They're the only MN bird that I can think of that has such an exaggerated split to their range.
They're all over reedy swamps in the western half of the state, but nowhere to be found in the exact same habitat in the east. I live less than a quarter-mile from a little slough with lots of cattails. If I were west of highway 15, it'd be lousy with them: as populous as redwings. But instead I'm in the Twin Cities and I'll probably never see a single one. (I just googled for maps of their range, which shows all but the arrowhead as their territory. Well, that just doesn't jive with my experience.) In Madelia, you're probably right on the edge of their range.
Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks sound like a Robin cover bird.
And Flickers are Woodpeckers that eat like Robins (pulling worms out of the ground).
Today, I had a bunch of white-throated sparrows out while it was raining this AM, then around dinner time, I had a bunch of tiny warbler-type birds that were pretty drab, and wouldn't hold still for me to get a good look. Probably vireo, but might have been a kinglet (although it seemed slimmer than a kinglet, and I've seen plenty of them - I should have been able to identify it quickly).
My new house is great for birdwatching from the livingroom.
The white throated Sparrows came thru Hartford two weeks ago. Very reminiscent of May camping in the boundary waters.
Extreme western ND gets 17 inches of snow today. Oy vey.
Then you'd be at home here this morning. It is pouring. Again.
Minor league day games: Rochester at Syracuse at 1:00 central and Peoria at Beloit at 2:00 central.
