More starter stats:
Bedard: 1.27 WHIP, 1.02 Ground/Fly ratio, 45.2 IP, 17 BB, 41K
Dunce: 1.53 WHIP, 1.04 Ground/Fly ratio, 47 IP, 17 BB, 31K
Dunce's ERA WHIP and Ground/Fly ratio are off their career averages (3.37, 1.31, 1.31 respectively), but everything else I listed is right about their career averages.
Also, congrats on your first gamelog AMR.
Oh boy, Dazzle & Black Jack today. Should be an entire afternoon of GOML.
Twins Baseball! Adam F. Kennedy...
Also not knowing is happening. Kennedy's double was a foul ball according to Dizz.
Getting started early today, aren't we?
No comments for 18 minutes? I assume interweb problems... or we've all abandoned ship on an early weekday game in which we are already behind two runs?
Now three.
I saw Butters working a strike out from a 3-0 count and suddenly got very lethargic about the game.
I went down to the cafeteria for a second lunch (a small side salad, but still)
I was thinking it was a 1:10 game.
I'm hoping the Twins offense was thinking that, too.
That does take the wind out of one's sails.
down 3-0 already? I blame AMR's gamelog. I mean, did you even stretch beforehand?
could be worse. you could be cleveland...
Ooooh, productive outs.
We're not going to score any runs today are we.
Get them on, get them over, Matt Tolbert steps in...
Twins Baseball.
Wow...pitch around Jack Wilson to get to Ichiro !
with all these hits by the lower BA players in the lineup, and the BA's are still miserable
On my way to lunch, I heard Dazz & Jack talking about how Casilla bumped his average over .200 yesterday... and how if he keeps being a "hot hitter" you can't take him out of the lineup. Is this what we've been reduced to as Twins fans?
do you really have to ask that?
Mark Haines of CNBC died today. I will miss his "Liiiiiiivvvvveeeeee, from the financial capital of the world" call every morning at 8:00 am Central. (2 minutes after my kids get on the bus). So sad.
...because a $10.99 Twins shutout shouldn't cost $12.99...
This is what I come home to? Well, I suppose if we're going to be shut out, I might as well miss most of it.
How about a Tolbertin' rallly?
How about a Kubel Smack?
How about some Canadian Club?
Come on Bill Smith, how about a team?
how about we pretend this game never happened?
I could certainly make it never happen on the WGOM, and that's what counts right?
not my first!
Don't worry, _elm_n is leading off the 9th.
that might be my least favorite way to lead off the 9th ever.
How about some advil?
Dusty Hughes?
[Tarantino with a gun .jpg]
I think Gardy forgot that you're supposed to try to get insurance runs, not give insurance runs.
Hey the minute of Slowey Hate didn't transpire there.
The reason Blackburn pitched a CG last night? Because none of the pitchers available to pitch the 9th had a save during their careers.
-Bert
Ugh.
At least he was blaming the state of the bullpen, so he was almost correct.
So if only pitchers had an incentive to be awesome every time out, they'd do so. Okay, got it.
that "logic" poses real problems for the speciation of Closers.
oooh. Dusty's ERA now under 9.00!!!111one111!!!
Kelm_n struck out? No way.
Only twice today, though, so that's surprising.
That's getting dangerously close to besmirching my first name there, mister...
Can't spell "spooky" without a 'K'
As a ballplayer I did usually strike out looking, so I probably shouldn't complain.
No offense intended, good sir.
Heavy is the head that wears the #6org.
Another quality start.
This team can't hit.
Shucks.
I know it's a day game for a rotten team, but <55 LTEs has to be in the running for the two-or-three-year low, doesn't it?
After a little bit of investigation:
This is the lowest for this year, 62 was the lowest for 2010, and 41 was the lowest for 2009.
55 LTEs? This gamelog is nearly as anemic as the Twins' offense.
The Twins start four lefties, Tolbert, Casilla and Butera against a hard-throwing lefty. Who could have imagined we would struggle to score runs? Oh well. We win the first game like we should have and this would be a "who cares" loss.
Unless they rip off winnning like, 16 out of 20 games, every loss is a "who cares" loss at this point. Just padding that draft position.
I'm just looking at reasons to feel good about the team in the short term. If they had won the first two games, you could shrug off this loss because they won the series. The sad reality is, you can shrug off this loss because they never had the lead and they didn't get swept.
Heh- ninja edit to counter F5 laziness.

Guess who's boss is out of the office? Great day for a day game.
two words: monitoring software.
