I spent all yesterday moving. The armoir is awesome but it weighs literally a million pounds. Literally.

Thought this poll might be of interest to certain Citizens. I cast mine for General Burnside, "inventor" of the sideburns.
Burnsie seems to be running away with it.
I voted for Adelbert Ames, though my son wanted me to vote for Selfridge, and my elder daughter would have voted for WB Hazen
I hear ya, Milkman. Our couch is a great napping couch (basically as deep as a twin bed is wide), but getting it in this house was to total bear. We had to take the front door off its hinges, and even then we barely got it in.
There's a post discussing the significance of the '87 uniform change on Uni Watch today. You can check it out here.
great link, CH. I also very enjoyed the "Rod Carew and 8 guys named Steve" quip.
All that and no one mentioned that the home front script underlines "win"?
Still, thanks for the link. I've had to drop that out of my regular rotation as Lukas kept adding contributors and I couldn't keep up.
One of my tasks this summer is to thin out my RSS reader, so I hear you.
Hi guys, I've got 2 tickets to the Twins/Royals game on July 16th I'm looking to get rid of. Section 224, row 1, seats 18-19. I think the face value is $20-25, but I'm willing to basically give them away if anyone is interested.
I'm pretty interested, and would totally be willing to pay you for them.
No Morneau vs. a right-hander. No word yet on reason, but that can't be a good sign.
Welcome to the Big Leagues, Brian Dinkelman.
Spain is embarrassing USMNT right now. Sure, half of the usual starters aren't playing but still, ouch. Spain is up 3-0 and the world's champions are just toying with the US up to the half.
I don't know if it's really a matter of "but still" when the US is resting Donovan, Bradley, and Dempsey. Anyone who thought we could compete with Spain with less than a full A squad was probably delusional about our depth.
You are correct. I guess I was hoping to see a little more defensive responsibility. Through 10 minutes in the second half, with many veterans now playing, the team looks better.
I don't know if it was really a matter of swapping in more veterans, I think they might just swapped in more talent. They kept a lot of the younger players on the field, and even took off Gooch and Jones. I suspect that Rogers/Gooch/Edu/Jones just aren't that good at the moment. Altidore is probably off because he's going to be getting a lot of minutes over the next month.
