It looks like I'll be driving over to my new home a week from today. I might be there a month, and I might be there for the rest of my life. I'm nervous as hell.

Nice game last night, guys. Who's this MosGOSO they're facing tonight?
Good luck, spooky. As I've said before, we tend to regret the chances we do not take much more than the chances we do. Best wishes to you.
Thanks. It was that very adage that finally got me to make this move, actually.
As you may have noticed, the features that I try to do on Friday showed up today because life intervened. They may not show up at all next week: I'm planning to be out of town two or three days, plus I may have a funeral to do. I will eventually do minor league players of the month for July, but it may be the middle of August before I get to it.
I am not even a little frightened by the Tigers acquiring Doug Fister. Bring it on.
FISTED!
Just got the 2011* Minnesota Twins banner. Very nice (and depressing).
hj admitted to spending way too much time on it last night. The most depressing thing, to me, is that I haven't missed more than 5-6 games all season but there are still a handful of guys who don't look the least bit familiar to me.
If I ask politely, will the Denard Span rumors end? Please stop? Pretty please?
Gleeman re-tweeted that the Twins want Roger Bernadina to be part of a deal for a reliever. What am I missing? He has a cool nickname (The Shark), but on Wikipedia it says scouts compare his playing style to Willy Taveres and Nook Logan. Awesome.
Ugh...I've written eighteen pages today, which is supposed to be a good haul, but I'm desperately trying to finish my script for a semi-important deadline by tomorrow and I have about that much left again. Someone say something inspiring.
Akiva Goldsman.
Wow, you are so on the right track.
Pain Heals, Chicks Dig Scars, Glory Lasts Forever.
Looks like Ubaldo to the Indians is a done deal.
Holy stupid.
Not sure it's a totally done deal yet (I think Ubaldo is still pitching for the Rockies tonight) but it sounds pretty close. The haul the Rockies would get is pretty sick (Pomeranz and Alex White) but Ubaldo is Ubaldo, and on a great contract (like someone else we know...)
I would have figured Pomeranz was off the table. The Indians are in win-now mode. I'm not sure they should be taking that tactic now that a better team is ahead of them in the standings.
It seems to me like the Twins are the ones who should reconsider whether they're contenders at this point.
picked the first batch of sweet corn out of the garden and had it for supper. life is fantastic 😀
Just finished up our second day of picking and freezing sweet corn- about 250 pint bags in the freezer. Got about that much more left to go, but it's worth it to have the home-grown creamed corn in January. Plus, corn on the cob for the next week!
We don't have any sweet corn, but we made a little garden in the old sandbox that came with the house. Garden fresh cucumbers are awesome.
NYY 16, BAL 1 in the third inning.
On the upside, Baltimore managed to trade a reliever (Koji Uehara, but still, a reliever) for the pretty serviceable Tommy Hanson and a throw-in 1B.
Tommy Hunter.
Fricksake, I'd even gone to his page and everything. What's wrong with me?!
Various Twitterers (mentioned by Gleeman) are saying the Yankees have inquired about Span. I don't think I could take that crap.
If they want to trade Gardner for Span I'd be all over that action.
He is very good. I might be able to gut that, after careful introspection. However, I doubt highly this is the plan. It's probably Joba or something.
joba's definitely a "win now" move.
