Uphill battles for the Cardinals and Diamondbacks tonight.
Phillies at Cardinals
Roy Oswalt vs. Edwin Jackson
Brewers at Diamondbacks
Randy Wolf vs. Joe Saunders
Fun and by fun we mean useless Fact: ERAs for the four starters tonight are 3.69, 3.79, 3.69 and 3.69.
Fun Fact II: Phillies and Brewers wins here would produce a rematch of the 1982 World Series. How many guys from those teams are still on those teams? I'm thinking less than ten.
half-bakef alert:
wins by the brewers and cardinals would set up a rematch of the 1982 world series.
OH, FOR THE LOVE
well, they didn't say it would be a rematch IN the world series.
SQUIRREL!
Going canine on us, greek?

my neighbor texted me that the squirrel ran under his seat
was it Dick Stockton doing the PBP, riffing that the squirrel had tickets for two games in a row?
If the Phillies blow this series, there are going to be some mighty unhappy campers in the city of Brotherly Love.
Well, at least they'll still have that dream team to root for.... oh, right.
I'm wondering what's worse...seeing your team blow an enormous wild card lead to get promptly eliminated, or seeing your team blow an enormous wild card lead to beat the frontrunners and go on to a championship. Cart before the horse, sure, but I still think it's some good schadenfreude with the way things happened to the Braves and Sawks this year.
I really don't want Nick Punto to win a World Series ring this year. That would be a huge, rotten cherry on top of the crap sundae that was the Twins' season.
Well, it's not like he'll have any chances for that ring once he re-signs with the Twins next year.
Don't remind me.
Arizona <3 the grand slam.
and other types
The Milkman loves the grand slam, too. I'm wondering if those Brewer dorks are in the stands again.
I didn't realize it was okay to hit the ball over the fence with runners on the bases. Weird. You can score many runs that way!
I thought it was borderline cheating just to hit the ball in the air with runners on the bases.
Plenty of seats available in Phoenix.
maybe those Brewers' fans are in jail?
A lot of seats were open last night, but a sellout was announced.
Tons of scalpers were outside. More than any I've ever seen at any event. Maybe they were holding 10% of the tickets.
I know it is irrational, but I still miss GoGo way more than I should.
Dido. Stupid head first slide and all.
Also: Every time I see a ball hit into a gap like that ball hit by Hart, I expect it to drop. I blame years of watching statues man left & right.
To be fair, there was a slight possibility of a tag play in that situation, so I'd give him a pass on that.
Gerardo Parra's got some ridiculous range.
One more home run by Arizona will tie the team record for a postseason game.
And the moral of the story is you don't have to slide into first if you hit it over the fence.
Well, my bracket's not broken yet!
Three game fives. I'm thinking that's rare.
It's a lot easier to have Game 5's if the Twins aren't playing.
Is the Cardinals' season really coming down to Kyle Lohse vs. Roy Halladay?
perhaps nick punto may play a role too.
