  1. I'll be spending half this special day at work because a client couldn't make their damn test samples correctly. Woohoo!

  2. I'll be spending half this day at work, too. Actually, I'll be spending pretty much all of this day at work. I have a prayer service this afternoon and a finance committee meeting tonight.

    1. Watching "Here Comes Science" by TMBG with the boy. I bet Rhu Ru wishes he could have a 5 year old for a little while!

    1. 37...I am disappoint.

Also, I know you can (or used to be able to, it's been awhile since I made a Sporcle quiz) allow for other versions of answers, like allow "FTLT" or "FirstTimeLongTime" or "Buffalo" or "The Hitman". Took me forever to remember what "Bootsy" stood for.

      1. Oh, I know you can. But then I'd have to allow for so much, like your real name for instance. And then I'd miss things. The only exception I made was a gentleman who changed his name since the move.

    2. I only got 27, but I did get two others that didn't count with the funny notes on the side- then I cheated and went to the avatar banner, and I still only got to 39.

      1. Doh! Zooomx2.0 has three "o"'s in it. Should've had 28, but I couldn't get that spelled right. Got MagUihdir on the third try, though.

        1. And I'm kinda disappointed I didn't give statfreak102 a try to see what the note would have been.

              1. if there is a number in parentheses, that's how many total comments that person has made since the switch. But I added around 10 that have not made a post since April

      1. well, spook missed you entirely the first time he took the quiz...then missed you the second time as well.

          1. In my defense, I didn't show my missed answers the first time.

In my non-defense, you're friggin' cheaptoy, and you send me beer. Where was my head?

            1. I'll just assume you are trying to forget any association with me after my repeated failures at werewolf.

    3. The stats are pretty awesome. It's nice to know that while I may notbe prolific, at least I'm memorable.

    4. Not wanting to embarrass myself, I tried to cheat as much as possible to find everyone.
      I ended up missing two:

      Also,

I got 12 bonuses. In addition to those mentioned above:

OK, what's the name of the guy with the UConn football player gravatar? Seels something?

I've found these others that were in neither place:

They must be those who haven't done anything since April. Only one of those guys had a nearly NSFW gravatar. It could be that I misspelled his name.

      1. You're correct that the six you list the last spoiler have neither registered nor posted at the new site.

There are about 25 bonuses. Some are almost impossible, because they made one or two posts here ever. And one...well, I'll be shocked if anyone gets it.

    5. That was very cool, Beau. Thanks. (39 for me - although a couple of the less-prolific posters were fresh in my mind after seeing their names in the recent comments before I took the quiz)

        1. I don't have the bonus answers yet, but I do have the quip for them all:

          Spoiler SelectShow

          That's 27.

          1. Spoiler: Combining those lists (up to 19) SelectShow
            1. I have all but your ??? one now. Yay direct access to SQL database.

  3. Reporting from the NW suburbs:
The Northtown Cheapo doesn't have the Colin Stetson CD in stock. And if they did it would be in the "Jazz" section.
(I have it as "Rock" in my iTunes with simplified genre categories: about 15 total -- although I do separate "House" and "Techno".)
I have an old $15 gift card to the Electric Fetus, from a birthday or two ago. I think I'll drive down there on Tuesday.

      1. Nope, I moved up here in 2001 (from my first post-wedding apt on Pill Hill in St. Paul). And I rarely ventured there until they put in a Home Depot. And the Cheapo is actually across the highway from the mall, in the same building as a Toys R US and a Babies R Us, and a now-vacant Carpet King (or Mattress King?).

This Cheapo used to be just a few blocks south of the Fridley Menards. They did have the new Björk and Bonnie "Prince" Billy in stock.

  4. Picked up a multi-use game table from my recently divorced and empty-nested aunt/godmother. (Her only child is off for his freshman year at Concordia Moorhead.) Foosball was popular with CER and HPR, but then I flipped it to a pool table (half-size? the balls are 1 3/8", the felt is 44"x20"). The kids didn't want to eat lunch.

    Their rules:
    1. Try to hit in all of the balls except the eight ball
    2. The eight ball is poison.
    3. Take turns.
    4. No penalties for scratching or moving extra balls or even picking up the cue ball and moving it around.

    1. I know there aren't many here who follow racing, Andrew might be the only other citizen I can think of...

This is a tremendously sad day. I actually had the pleasure of working with Dan as he worked his way up the racing ladder--he was personable, genuine, and caring. That's more than I can say for 99% of the people I met in that business.

He had a bright future ahead of him--married with 2 kids, defending Indy 500 champion, a new full-time ride lined up, and the league saw him as one of the most marketable drivers. And now, suddenly, it is gone.

    1. I forgot how intense this show is. I am going to have to watch Boardwalk Empire after this to bore myself to sleep.

  5. Tonight on 60 minutes, they were talking about van Gogh and my wife mentions that she and Miss SBG saw a van Gogh at the Minneapolis art museum. A painting of a hay stack. Miss SBG: "I think that was Monet." Lucy: "I think it is van Gogh." Miss SBG: "I'm pretty sure it's Monet, Mom." She then proceeds to walk to the refrigerator, take a piece of paper with stamps of Monet paintings on them and says, while pointing at Monet's hay stack, "See Mom."

Something tells me that the next 14 years are going to be very interesting.

    1. I'm thinking they might try a sucky first half with a spirited second half that just falls short, just to change things up a little.

      1. I am somewhat of an expert on Vikings losses. This one feels like total lay down. I could be wrong, but wants to bet against me?

  6. So, I'm on Yahoo's home page. The lead story is the fatal Indy car crash. Buzzing over it: an animated friggin' car for a Volkswagen Passat advert. Good job, Yahoo!!!

    1. I find myself annoyed with Yahoo every time I head over, primarily for the fact that I head over a lot and they still haven't figured out that I'll never, ever click on the entertainment yellow journalism crap. It's always featured first, and at the top of the lists.
