i never listened to anything else by these guys, but this song was pretty sweet (i loved that half measure they threw in there).
This record was pretty good. In 2001 or so a friend's band opened up for these guys. The drummer smoked cigarettes the entire set. I don't know how many of the citizens of the nation have tried to smoke cigarettes while playing the drums but it is seriously difficult.
smoking and playing guitar is difficult enough. drumming seems impossible.
I figure after singing while smoking drumming is the hardest. Then again, I am convinced the singer from the Walkmen packs a lipper when he sings.
When I saw The New Pornographers, their drummer was alternating between smoking & taking pulls off a bottle of Jameson during the set. Near the end of the set he successfully did all 3. I was mighty impressed.
Went to Baltimore last year (Ram's Head) for a concert featuring the New P'ers, yet we went to watch their opener, Tokyo Police Club (big fan). Dave Monks delivered in classic canadian indie form. Tessallate (verb).
Bun E. Carlos, the king
ehh, looks like a cheap trick to me.
wocka wocka!
I don't know anything about drumming, but smoking and walking is tough so I can't imagine getting my arms into it as well!
By the way, I love
dthis song and the rest of the album was decent.I hate that this band is a one hit wonder. Their Hell Below/Stars Above album is fantastic, one of my favorites of all time. Maybe someday I'll put some Jigsaw Girl on here
