Sean and I caucused at a Catch-22 sports bar last night. It's a natural pairing - Sean is guarded and doesn't talk much, and I rarely shut up. What about the other caucus? Did that happen?

KD, meet your Starbury.
I watched a lot of this game last night. Westbrook was terrible, KD was off the charts great. After a 1-7 start, KD hit 9-10 and tough, tough shots. The Grizzlies were very good, but not enough to take down the Thunder. Great game. But, I think things are going to end badly in OKC with Russell.
This.
Based on appearances, Westbrook looks like a butt-head, so this doesn't surprise me too much. I hope its resolved quickly enough that it doesn't de-rail Durant's team in the process because Durant would probably be my second favorite NBA player of ever. (Maybe Buffalo can figure a way for the Wolves to trade for Durant so him and Love can play on the same team, which would be awesome.)
Based on this story, I think he's certifiably a butt head:
Today's Strib proclaims (rightfully so) Seimone Augustus as the Minnesota Sportsperson of the year. In the lengthy article the Strib also basically "outs" Augustus by identifying her female fiance. Now I don't think it was a huge secret that Augustus is a lesbian but it isn't exactly common knowledge either. The twitterverse of course is all abuzz and an interesting question I think is whether a male professional athlete would ever (1) have a publicly known male fiance, and (2) would the media mention it in an profile. I am guessing no to the first question and yes to the second.
I think it is only a matter of time until someone major comes out in men's golf or tennis. It will be a longer while until an active, star player in one of the major team sports comes out.
I know rugby isn't major in the States, but Gareth Thomas was out while he as a professional. There was a really good article in SI about him last year.
also, on the Augustus story, it only took six comments for a Stribber to blast Joe Mauer. Well done!!!!111one111!!!
Knicks lose badly to Curry-less Warriors; Nuggets drill Jazz; 'Melo thinks Paul trade to Lakers should have been ratified.
It's not that I disagree with Anthony, I just think he's not exactly the most disinterested observer. Also, Nuggets >> Knicks.
After getting bounced in the ALCS last season, the Minnesota Empire Builders returned to their third World Series in four seasons in 1974 after overcoming three Bobby Bonds homeruns in Game Five. Sadly, the owner of the former Houston Colt .45s passed away a couple of weeks ago after a long struggle with cancer, and his team is facing elimination down 3-2 in the NLCS.
Hopefully, Phil Niekro can continue his hot streak in the World Series as he's lined up to start Games 1, 4, and 7 after going 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA in the ALCS and finishing the season 5-0 with a 0.81 ERA in his last five regular season starts.
Nice pickup of a 40-year-old Hank Aaron.
the Wild finally get back in the WIN column. I guess I would call the game 'scrappy'...I have never seen so much 4-4 play in a game.
is anyone watching the Alamo Bowl? its 49-46 Washington over Baylor, but only 6 minutes left in the THIRD QUARTER! I think they are approaching 1000 yard of total offense. Its kinda awesome to watch
