The Mexican League and the Venezuelan League seasons ended last night. They go to the playoffs, which will begin after the first of the year.
If I remember correctly, the Venezuelan League playoffs are a five-team round-robin. I'm not sure about the Mexican League, but if I'm reading their schedule correctly, it looks like they start with a six-team, five-game round-robin, then go to a four-team, six-game round robin, then go to a two-team best-of-seven series. I'm not sure if that's right. It seems awfully convoluted, but on the other hand, it also sounds like it would be kind of fun.
"Spanning the Globe" will take a few days off, as I go to visit my parents after services tomorrow. If all goes as I expect it to, the feature should return Wednesday.
