with the negotiations completed and contracts all signed, we're happy to announce the recruitment of a fresh round of guest DJs. we're looking for a few sensitive young men and women to take a turn behind the tables.
we dug up `6 from the retirement home, but if you're interested as well, please send an email to hungryjoe [this thingy] wgom.org. first priority goes to new DJs. spots left over will be spread among returning DJs, awarded by random number generator. also, months will be awarded by random number generator.
come be the next opportunistic renegade.
Or we could just play a few weeks of Shat.
You're banned.
I was going to put in a request to do a "CH Week" if there was an opening in the next few months.
Sign this man up already.
I hope you do the guest DJ thing too this year, that was fun.
I'm up for another go.
I'll also take another shot if any spots end up available.
I sent in my intentions.
sending them in is the way to go (wink, wink ;))
if no one claims the dog days of August, I'll take another go at it
I am also willing to claim a week at some point.
I don't know why I've never done this, and I'm anxious to see what ridiculous stuff I'd play. Consider me in, but I'll almost surely forget all about it so you'll have to remind me a lot when I'm coming up.
Twould consider a week, but you guys would have to be gentle with the criticism as my tastes as somewhat diverse. Sign me up for a week but I will need instructions on vinyl spinning. I'm in.
You're certainly not unique in that regard.
I can always do another week. Just not between October through January.
Hey jobu, how are we looking here? Do we have enough folks for the random number generator?
we're looking pretty good. so far, we've got 8 new dejuses, and enough re-uppers to fill the balance. volunteers are still trickling in though, so let's leave enrollment open through the weekend and announce the schedule on monday.
Are we going to do that thing we talked about starting on Sunday?
you've got mail (x2)
2012 Guest DJ List:

february 13-19: CarterHayes
march 12-18: New Britian Bo
april 16-22: meat

september 10-16:nibbish
october 15-21: DK
november 12-18: spookymilk
december 10-16: brianS
*there were 6 returning guest DJs, of which 3 were chosen by random number generator1. those 3 DJs were added to the list of 8 new guest DJs, and distribution of months was decided by random number generator2, though it was run multiple times until several conditions were met3. if you have any further questions about the methodology, please let me know.
1. returning DJs were put in alphabetical order and a random sequence of 1-6 was run. the DJs corresponding with numbers 1, 2, and 3 were added to the 2012 DJ list
2. again, DJs were put in alphabetical order, and a random sequence of 2-12 signifying the months of 2012 was run (E-6 had a year end week in early january) which placed to correspond with the list of DJs
3. carterhayes requested to go in january or february. meat request to go april or later. AMR requested to go september or sooner. the first randomly generated sequence that met these three conditions was selected and used to order this year's guest DJs.
oh yeah, if anyone wants to trade weeks with each other, go ahead, but let us know here.
I don't know if I can hold my Shat in until December π
π Dang, not randomly chosen. Dibs on if someone needs a pinch hitter.
Ooh, I have a long time to think up mine.
Play something good for my birthday! π
I thought about throwing my name in the hat, but its probably better I didn't. I don't know if this place could handle another week of that.
jobu and I might have a week of songs we think you would like and then you can tell us why our choices are whoosy. I would enjoy that.
I liked Cheaptoy week, even if I didn't like every song played during Cheaptoy week.
dido.
I like variety, and I like getting some exposure to what "the kids" are listening to these days, since my knowledge of popular music basically calcified in about 1985.
Heh, so did mine. only way after the fact.
Metallica was released in 1991. Doesn't that count in your world?
That was a harbinger, doc.
(actually, there's been great metal released in every decade since the 60's.)
