definitely one of the more exciting musicians on the scene today.

Sheenie and I saw him last fall at First Avenue, and it was a phenomenal performance. Oh, and he performed in a tank-top which left Sheenie literally drooling from her mouth while ogling his arms.
The opening act, Kids These Days, was stunningly great as well.
He would get much higher rating if he used Trumpet Shorty has his moniker. As it is, that's called Bait-and-Switch.
Excellent circular breathing in this piece, though.
We were about 15 feet to his left at the front of the stage (definitely the closest I've ever been at First Ave), and it was crazy watching his circular breathing. It looked like he was breathing through his eyes at one point.
You've never been on the rail at First Ave?
From Korn to Monster Magnet to Aphex Twin to Schneider TM to Sonic Youth (2009!) and Ha Ha Tonka a few months ago, I've been there often. If you're 15 feet back at some shows, you're getting pushed around from moshing.
(HHT, Schneider TM, and Monster Magnet were openers, so it was easier. Monster Magnet opened for Kid Rock about two weeks after "Bawitaba" made it onto TRL.)

I was probably the one pushing you around.... Sorry about that.
OK, I was at the rail for The New Pornographers as well, but Sheenie got really sick from being cramped in such a tight space. Thankfully, the Trombone Shorty crowd was a little more subdued.
For those of you who don't know what circular breathing is, Wynton demos it well:

Holy mackerel.
Take to the Cup of Coffee!
He rocked the trombone on the other video of his featured in the video post.
yeah, there's a reason he's called trombone shorty.
EDIT: aw crap, mags, how did i miss this the first time around?
I only remembered because I requested the first one. But can't go wrong with more Trombone Shorty.
No, I remember the previous video, just giving him crap for defecting.
Watching this makes me REALLY sad that the third season of Treme is pushed back until the fall...
