      1. Just one more year and then you'll be happy
        But you're cryin'
        You're cryin' now

  1. There's a lot of new mugshots on the Gameday pregame lineup from last season- I hope they all find their bats soon.

  2. I predict... the Twins lose 8-1! The one run will be scored in the 9th inning on a passed ball!

I see what you did, there.

  3. I'm drinking Dortmunder Gold tonight because I'm not going to wait for the Twins to win anymore. Served in the mystery glass-a Foster's pint glass- that is of obscure and unknown origins.

    1. I'm quaffing a homebrew. English ordinary bitter + some extra hops to make it bitter = excellent session brew.

    2. when I get home, I will have to decide between canned Guinness and a Torpedo. Can't go until somebody gets a hit in this game, however.

  4. Of course, our go-to site for helping me watch this game in class has all the MLB games tonight... except this game. Someday I'll see a pitch thrown live this season!

      1. Blacked out in MN. Not to worry, my professor let us out almost two hours early!

  5. The second I heard the Twins had called a press conference I knew Baker was going under the knife for that tendon. Spooky.

  6. The Twins have now hit into double plays in 25 percent of their opportunities. That is insane. They did just 10 percent last year.

    1. Something about the way he fielded it looked odd, almost like he assumed Kendrick would stay at third.

      1. Yeah, it looked like he was just going to toss it in and threw it in at the last second. Kendrick should've been dead meat.

      2. looked to me like he dawdled throwing it in because he didn't expect the runner to go. even Delmon would have made that throw, if he could have come up with it somehow

  7. Albert Pujols out at 2nd on the throw, left fielder Josh Willingham to catcher Joe Mauer to first baseman Chris Parmelee to second baseman Alexi Casilla to first baseman Chris Parmelee to shortstop Jamey Carroll. Two out.

Twins hired a vet like Carroll to put a stop to tomfoolery like this.

    1. And how often do you see it that a guy puts an end to tomfoolery then leads off with his first hit with his new team?

    1. Thanks for sticking around, but you left and Bourgeois hit an inside the park round-tripper...next time, stay longer.

  8. So I think we're pretty well all in agreement that the Willingham signing was well done, yes?

    1. That wasn't even a slider which makes it all the stranger. It was a fastball that started out way down and away and stayed even further away.

  9. Peter Bourjos owns the Twins. Just absolutely owns them. Like Rivas to the Royals.

      1. The original zooomx got lost somewhere in the interweb on the way over from the other website. Aaaaanddd, I frickin' hate Weaver.

    1. I think it is important to put players where they are comfortable and not where they would best help the team.

    1. 15% of his extra base hits in his career against the Twins in just 6% of his plate appearances. The only team he has more extra base hits against is the Rangers (one more) in twice as many plate appearances.

          1. Above average in everything, but not great in anything (except perhaps fielding) makes it easy to miss that he's really good.

    1. I was thinking today that with Adrian Peterson, Rubio, Mbakwe, and now Baker injured, what next? Love?

Hope it was not a premonition.

    1. Dazzle spent several minutes talking about Thielbar (and his offseason work as a landscaper) during the third inning.

  10. Sipping on Toad Hollow's Proprietary Red Wine aka Erik's the Red. Tasty. Perfected a new dessert last night. Sweet Potato Brownies with blueberries, double layered with Peanut Butter Mousse and finished with a Blueberry and Port Wine reduction. I call it the Devil's PB&J. Perhaps I will post the recipe in the near future. Munching on the left-overs tonight. 🙂

  11. How long until we hear people start blaming Pavano's "struggles" on him missing Butters?

    1. Nope, he just flat out took the wrong route and then faceplanted. Bizarre to see Hunter take the wrong angle and let a ball elude him.

      1. I was disappointed that Ullger didn't send him. I would have loved to experienced an inside the park home run against ii...

  12. Sean, I see progress with my Android browser. refreshing the page takes me to my last comment, rather than to the top of the page every time.

    1. And the memory of Hawkins blowing it comes streaming back.

      But it's good this time.

  13. The Twins have just doubled their run total for the season. They have two innings tonight in which they scored more runs than they scored in any of their first four games.

  14. Its good to see that Perkins has mostly grown out that beard. Needs to work on the mustache part a bit, though.

  15. Dr. Chop says Mauer looks thinner. She's concerned that his production will suffer now that his butt is smaller.

    1. He does have my favorite called third strike. Still, nobody had a better called strike at all than Al Clark.

    1. Oh good, I thought I was the only one thinking that. I also thought it must be some other Isringhausen.

  16. Jason Isringhausen is so old, he was on the Mets with Bobby Bonilla. Bonilla's contract was so horrible, the Mets are still paying it off.

  17. Jesus. If the ump is giving you 6 inches off the plate and you still can't find the zone, you must be matt capps.

    1. Clearly it was the drinking of the Dortmunder Gold prior to the win that was needed all along.

  18. Nathan blows the save for the Rangers against the Mariners. He's allowed three runs so far.

  19. from mlb.com's wrap:

Peter Bourjos electrified the crowd with a three-run, inside-the-park homer for the Angels.

    uh, no.

  20. Twins win - Tigers, Indians and Royals all lose.
