Someone needs to energize me enough to get me writing my next script. I'm on the verge of doing it. If any of you are in the area and can hang out and slap me around a little to get me to start, you can stay in my house for free.

I hear that the Yankees got the benefit of a bad umpire's call last night. I don't think that's ever happened before.
bad umpire, or bad call? ๐
Definitely the second. I don't know enough about his umpiring skills to make a judgment on the first. And if we mean "bad" in a moral sense, I'll let God sort that one out.
Of course not, every call goes against them.
@ New Guy - I can handle those Thursday recaps for you. 2 recaps per week = twice as many chances to recap a win...right?
Stop-n-Pop on yesterday's deal:
I love Rick Adelman.
Tell me about it. The Maloofs were fools to run him out of sactown.
Since the Twins are a day game today, anyone available for a WGOM Radio NBA recording?
I have read that this is a "win now" move. That implies that it is a short term move.
Budinger is 24 and a restricted free agent. It isn't like he is 32. He can produce now and into the future.
"win now" is a big improvement over "win never".
Indeed. Also, if this works good this year, I think it'd be entirely possible that they resign him. Dude's young and a restricted free agent, plus he's played for Adleman before and who wouldn't want to play with Rubio, assuming he is the same after his knee heals? So I don't think it has to be a short term move, but I still like it even if it is.
First semi-final for the Euro is on today. Here's the updated bracket
And again for reference, our predictions
I'm really liking my Germany prediction. I actually saw the second half of the quarter final match and they absolutely destroyed Greece (granted it's Greece). I will miss the final, but will be surprise when I get back on Monday and Germany aren't crowned Champions.
CC to bootsy: I sent you a package in the mail recently, let me know when you get it.
Some of you may have seen this, but R. I. P. Paul Bargas, Twins minor league pitcher, from brain cancer, at age 23.
Apparently my interview went well. A 3rd interview is scheduled (3+ interviews is not uncommon for this particular employer).
Congrats!
*still holding breath* two thumbs up!
Excellent work! More importantly, do you know anyone who could advise on "How to set yourself up for a severance package when shit appears to be going downhill?"
Depends... what kind of dirt do you have on your boss/are you willing to beat yourself up ala Fight Club?
Congrats, Philo!
Continued good luck to you.
Best of luck, pally.
Wowzers, what a finish by Fabregas.
Will Ohman gives up a HR to the Maestro, gets let go after the game
On the bright side, now he can attend SABR.
FSN is showing a 'Twins Classic' right now. Its from July 6 2007, Morneau's 3 homer night against the White Sox. That was a second game of a double header in which the Twins score 86 runs.
I forgot that in this game, Gardy's worst nightmare came true. Redmond was catching and Mauer was DH. In the first inning, Thome's bat came loose from his grip and smacked Redmond in the side of the head and was bleeding pretty bad. So Mauer had to move to catcher and there was no 3rd catcher so the pitchers had to bat.
Morneau just crushed his second. I miss that confident, powerful swing ๐
