Other Javelinas: Cody Asche (Philadelphia) was 2-for-3 with a walk and two doubles.
Opposition star: Chris McGuinness (Texas) was 4-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in three.
Key inning: The fourth. Already leading 2-1, the Saguaros scored five times to put the game away. All the runs came after two were out. Colin Walsh (St. Louis) delivered a two-run double, Bryce Brentz (Boston) had an RBI single, and McGuinness hit a two-run homer.
SALT RIVER 11, MESA 3 IN MESA
The Rafters scored four in the first, which would be all they really need. Matthew Skole (Washington) went 3-for-5 with a home run, driving in three, to lead the way. Matt Davidson (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer to contribute to the win. Jonathan Singleton (Houston) tripled and homered, driving in three for Mesa.
SCOTTSDALE 6, PHOENIX 5 IN SCOTTSDALE (11 INNINGS)
An error led to two Scorpions runs in the ninth to tie the score and another error led to the winning run in the eleventh. Matt Curry (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-5 and drove in a pair to lead Scottsdale. Brock Kjeldgaard (Milwaukee) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run for Phoenix.
