MAYAGUEZ 11, MANATI 2 IN MAYAGUEZ

TwinsKennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was 1-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring three times and driving in one.  Eddie Rosario (Mayaguez) was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in two.  Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 1-for-4 and scored once.

Game summary:  Mayaguez scored six in the first and was never threatened.

Manati:  Tony Butler worked 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Delvin Perez allowed three hits and no walks in 2.2 scoreless innings.

Mayaguez:  Luke Merton (Yankees) was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring twice and driving in two.  Jeremy Kehrt (Boston) struck out four in 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and a walk.

CAROLINA 6, SANTURCE 1 IN CAROLINA

TwinsJorge Fernandez (Carolina) was used as a pinch-runner and scored.  Nelvin Fuentes (Santurce) surrendered three runs on three hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Game summary:  Leading 2-1, Carolina scored four in the eighth to put the game away.

Santurce:  Fehlandt Lentini was 2-for-4 and scored once.  Jason Lowey struck out four in four innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk.

Carolina:  Hector Santiago (White Sox) gave up one run on six hits and a walk while striking out six in six innings.  Jorge Jimenez was 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in two.

CAGUAS 7, PONCE 1 IN CAGUAS

Game summary:  Caguas scored six runs in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead.

Ponce:  Jorge Alfaro (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a double.  Cesar Ogando (Kansas City) struck out two in two perfect innings.

Caguas:  Andy Gonzalez was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, and a walk driving in four.  Kelvin Villa struck out eight in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.
