CARACAS 4, MARGARITA 2 IN MARGARITA

TwinsBrian Dozier (Margarita) was 1-for-4.

Game summary:  Raul Padron delivered a two-run single in the ninth to break a 2-2 tie.

Caracas:  Yoanner Negrin (Cubs) gave up one run on eight hits and a walk in five innings.  Ramon Cabrera (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4 and scored once.

Margarita:  Luis Chirinos allowed one run on six hits and four walks in 5.1 innings.  Cesar Hernandez (Philadelphia) was 3-for-5 with a triple and an RBI.

MAGALLANES 12, ARAGUA 4 IN MAGALLANES

TwinsJosmil Pinto (Aragua) was used as a reserve and did not bat.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) worked 2.1 innings, giving up one run on one hit and one walk with one strikeout.  Edgar Ibarra (Aragua) faced two batters and was charged with two runs, walking one and hitting one. Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) pitched a perfect inning.

Game summary:  Leading 5-4, Magallanes scored seven in the eighth to take control of the game.

Aragua:  The team’s runs scored on four solo homers.

Magallanes:  Chris Nowak was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a two run homer.  Jesus Flores (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a home run.

ANZOATEGUI 8, ZULIA 5 IN ANZOATEGUI

TwinsDarin Mastroianni (Zulia) was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 1-for-3 with a double and a sacrifice bunt, scoring twice.  Bruce Pugh (Anzoategui) retired the only man he faced.

Game summary:  Trailing 4-3, Anzoategui scored four in the seventh.

Zulia:  Gerardo Parra (Arizona) was 3-for-3 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice.  Tony Alvarez was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.

Anzoategui:  Paolo Espino (Cleveland) allowed one run on five hits and two walks in four innings.  Luis Nunez was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, driving in two.

LARA 10, LA GUAIRA 9 IN LARA

Game summary:  La Guaira had leads of 6-1, 7-4, and 9-6.  Lara scored three in the eighth to tie and one in the ninth to win.

La Guaira:  Renny Osuna was 5-for-5 with a double, a home run, and a walk, scoring three times and driving in three.  Hector Sanchez (San Francisco) was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.

Lara:  Luis Jimenez was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in three.  Robert Perez was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
