LARA 9, ARAGUA 6 IN ARAGUA

TwinsDakota Watts (Aragua) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Game summary:  Aragua took a 3-0 lead after two, but Lara scored five in the third and led 7-3 after five.

Lara:  Jhonny Montoya worked 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and no walks.  Jairo Perez was 2-for-4 with a home run and scored twice.

Aragua:  Luis Maza was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in three.  Luis Hernandez (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 with a walk and scored once.

LA GUAIRA 9, ANZOATEGUI 8 IN ANZOATEGUI

TwinsEduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 0-for-4.  Shairon Martis (La Guaira) gave up one run on five hits and a walk in five innings while striking out two.

Game summary:  La Guaira led 8-1 after six and 9-6 after eight.  Anzoategui got the tying run on base in the ninth with none out and to second with one out.

La Guaira:  Javier Herrera was 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.  Cesar Suarez was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.

Anzoategui:  Gorkys Hernandez (Miami) was 5-for-5 with two doubles, scoring three times and driving in one.  Alexi Amarista (San Diego) was 3-for-4 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in one.

ZULIA 3, MAGALLANES 0 IN MAGALLANES

Game summary:  Zulia scored one in the fourth and two in the eighth.

Zulia:  Josh Schmidt pitched a complete game shutout, giving up four hits and two walks while striking out seven.  Freddy Galvis (Philadelphia) was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring twice.

Magallanes:  Jose Altuve (Houston) was 2-for-4.

CARACAS 10, MARGARITA 7 IN CARACAS

Game summary:  It was tied 6-6 after seven.  Margarita scored one in the top of the eighth, only to see Caracas score four times in the bottom of the eighth.  A two-run triple by Henry Wrigley put Caracas in the lead.

Margarita:  Jonathan Herrera (Colorado) was 3-for-5 with a run and two RBIs.  Frank Diaz was 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.

Caracas:  Wrigley was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in five.  Jesus Guzman (San Diego) was 3-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring twice.
