Love the smell of fresh cut pine this time of year.

I was at a Christmas party at a work friend of the Milkmaid's last night. I am just now discovering how strong the White Russians were.
The whiskey sours at my company Christmas party last night were the opposite of strong- but at least I don't have a hangover today!
I watched the Kings dominate the Blazers in Portland -- or was that second beer I had spiked with hallucinogens?
the knob creek on the rocks at my christmas party last night was also somewhat strong.
The Dodgers, after making Greinke the highest paid pitcher ever, are at $233 million and can still add more pieces to their team. All because of a television deal with FOX.
The one sort of nice thing about the way the divisions are aligned right now is that the weaker teams financially tend to be grouped together, at least in the Central. And it seems only Brian Cashman is capable of breaking the bank and putting together a great team every year. Still, it's crazy the way baseball is set up: the bigger your city, the better players you get. Teams were more fair at recess kickball.
If only baseball had a commissioner, something might get done about this.
Say what you want about the NFL, at least they recognize that you need to share television revenue to allow for a competitive league. Baseball has enough randomness and unbalanced schedules to disguise how lopsided it has become. Can you imaging going through the 2000s with the Twins in the AL East? How many playoff appearances would they have had? 1?
what MLB clearly needs is Yanquis West. L.A. deserves to have a great team.
I would love to see this division: Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, Phillies.
That would suck for the travel. I'm all for it.
Can we sneak the Marlins in that division? They deserve to lose forever.
I am not co-signing on the Giants. 14th largest market?? 7th largest in terms of revenue according to Forbes (suspicious, I know; the same organization that named Kevin McHale the best GM in sports, right?), tied with the Dodgers at $230M, just ahead of Anaheim at $226M.
Put the Rangers in that group. They had the money to sign A-Rod to a 100-year, $10trillion contract.
Also, put the Cubs and Whities in that group. Both are annoying.
Chelsea has been miserable these last 6 weeks or so and maybe just maybe finally getting out of its funk. But when Chelsea lost they were just wretched all game long. If you want your heart ripped out by giving up two goals in the last five minutes or so of a game you thought was in the bag, then Tottenham Hotspur is the team for you.
I went to put some petroleum distillate in the ol jalopy and I couldnt believe what I saw. People driving slow and responsible because the roads around town are awful at best.

Bootsy and the Fox Sports North girls? Spooky you should write this up. I smell a sitcom.
w00t!
and I endorse free's suggestion. At the very least, it deserves a contest at the Leche.
Let's find a way to structure that.
Will someone send me a link if this gets posted online somewhere? I would love to see it.
so its 34 degrees in Mankato, 28 at the St James airport, and 16 in Windom. I think I found where the cold front is!
Is anyone besides DK watching Homeland? Last week's episode was panned across the internet and while I agree with a lot of the criticisms I still find the show super watchable and look forward to the last two episodes of the season. DK, you still with me?
I have. While this season has featured some amazing television (think Q and A), there have been a few episodes where I kept waiting for Jack Bauer to make an appearance. The characters and the actors who play them have generally been stellar, the paces the writers have put them through a lot more inconsistent. I groaned aloud several times last week.
I think the AV Club did a nice job with their write up about last week's episode. Sure some stuff seems, umm unlikely, but there are two episodes left and I figure it isn't best to pass judgment on an entire series after an hour I wasn't totally in love with.
I like a lot of VanDerWerff's television commentary, and I am pretty close to agreeing with him on that last episode (I think his positive feelings extend a little farther than mine do), and I do agree with him on the season overall. I think I'm usually more forgiving of plot gymnastics than a lot of people (certainly a lot of people on the internet) but last week was definitely a lot to swallow. I'm still super engaged with the characters, though, and I'm anxious to see how the last couple episodes turn out. I think you're right, can't really make a judgment on the whole thing yet.
James Shield, Wade Davis heading to the Royals
eff
I hope Billy Butler goes to the Rays
it seems to be Wil Myers and other prospects
Someone check on Rany...
Sitting here, just wondering whether the Royals have ripped out the future of their franchise to go for it in 2013. Fun!
I'm not sure the Twins can match the value of Myers and Odorizzi with anybody, but maybe something like Sano/Meyer/Wimmers if he was farther along coming back from injury/some good low-level position guy?
Yeah, I think I'm correct. The Twins couldn't equate to this.
Joe Mauer, Kyle Lohse, and Brock Peterson in 2003, plus Glen Perkins in 2005.

A WGOM citizen will be getting some tv time tonight.

Dido. I can't see it any other way.
Huh.
Looking good!
Any publicity is good publicity- right, Bootsy?
Not necessarily...
So Bills.
That is tremendous.
I've always wondered why that doesn't happen more often.
I could watch that as endlessly as the Raul Ibanez gifs.
Delmon Young playing the outfield does it for me.
I laughed
but then they lost
That is a Bills thing to do.
How did I not know about this????

And there's this...
it's so much worse:
what would be the Twins equivalent?
