ANZOATEGUI 9, ZULIA 7 IN ANZOATEGUI

TwinsDarin Mastroianni (Zulia) was  0-for-2 with two walks.  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Game summary:  Zulia scored five in the third to take a 7-2 lead.  Anzoategui got four in the third to make it 7-6 and then scored single runs in the fifth, sixth, and eighth.  A home run by Alexi Amarista (San Diego) tied it and a home run by Jose Castillo put Anzoategui ahead.

Zulia:  Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta) was 2-for-3 with two homers, a walk, and four RBIs.  Gerardo Parra (Arizona) was 3-for-4 with a home run and scored twice.

Anzoategui:  Amarista was 4-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in three.  Castillo was 2-for-5 with a double and drove in three.

MAGALLANES 3, MARGARITA 2 IN MAGALLANES

TwinsDeolis Guerra (Magallanes) pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

Game summary:  Margarita scored two in the third, but Magallanes got single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth.  Ezequiel Carrera (Cleveland) scored the tying run and drove in the go-ahead run.

Margarita:  Yusmeiro Petit (San Francisco) gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk in 6.1 innings.  Cesar Hernandez (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Magallanes:  Juan Rivera was 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored once.  Carrera was 2-for-4 with a double.

ARAGUA 12, LA GUAIRA 4 IN ARAGUA

TwinsRay Olmedo (La Guaira) was used as a reserve and went 1-for-2 with a double, scoring once.  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 2-for-5 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in one.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) gave up an unearned run on no hits and one walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Game summary:  Aragua scored four in the first, led 6-0 after three, and led 8-0 after five.

La Guaira:  Hector Sanchez (San Francisco) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.

Aragua:  Ken Ray allowed two runs on four hits and no walks with five strikeouts in 6.1 innings.  Hector Gimenez was 4-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in three.
