  1. If you had to build your team around either A) Melo or B) Russell Westbrook who would you take?

      1. I think I would take Melo. I really don't care for Westbrook's game. It works because Durant is there to keep him in check. I can't imagine Russ running his own team. I feel it would become a little Steve Francis-y real fast.

  2. L3OVE(!) seems a lot more comfortable rotating to the right than the left when setting up for threes. Something to keep an eye on.

  3. Wow, I am ONLY catching the OKC-heavy parts of this game. It's starting to tick me off. We have to be down about 30-5 in the segments I've seen.

  4. Having Jim Peterson paired with Alan Horton and dragging down the broadcast shows just how great Horton is on his own.

  5. If I was the coach of the Thunder my game plan would be for Durant to take a turnaround jump shot every possession.

You didn't ask anyone anything, TNT guy. That was a Wolves-produced viral video.

      1. TNT acted as if they asked the Wolves players about X-Mas traditions from homeland.

      1. I'm going to pull the first stat I can think of out of my butt and say his true shooting percentage this year is 51.8%. So, is that particularly bad or something? It seems to be fifth on the team this year behind Budinger, Kirilenko, Pekovic, and Ridnour.

          1. He is a 5th guard who can get hot and serve as a good change of pace player. The guy, in my opinion, when he gets going thinks he is unstoppable and starts to become a ball stopper. Now if they are going in, cool. They just aren't usually going in.

Once Ricky is healthy I will like JJ more. IT is all about usage. It is like LNP. When used in the right role, I'm cool with him. When used every day he will make you go batty.

            1. Tonight is like a game from 2006 when Nicky had 4 plate appearances and saw 40 pitches.

              1. I loved those games. 1 walks, one deep fly, one infield single, and a double through the left side?

            2. Considering he was probably at least the 6th or 7th most important player on a team that won the title just two years ago, I still think calling him a "5th" guard is underselling him. I think he rates at least a 4th, and maybe 3rd. But then you were wrong about Tyson Chandler, too.

              1. There is still a lot of contract left on Chandler's deal and he has lost a step or two defensively already. But yes, I was totally wrong about him last season.

              2. And, once Roy gets healthy, your guard rotation should be:

                Rubio/Luke/JJ
                Shved/Roy/Lee

He is a 5th guard on a good team.

If we say he is the 7th most important player on a title team, okay, lets look at that team

                Kidd/JJ/Roddy
                Terry/Deshawn/Brewer

The difference between Roddy and JJ was 3 minutes a game.

                1. Look at the playoffs, Roddy didn't play at all.

And really, counting on Roy to be healthy is a pretty long shot.

  7. this whole 'its amazing small market OKC can survive' talk is silly because the team was stolen from bigger market Seattle by the ownership.

    1. We'll see how much they survive when they go through a rough period. In 15 years, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sonics are playing but the Thunder aren't...

      1. "small market" is all bullshit. San Antonio is a small market. Milwaukee is a small market.

If you consistently put a good product on the floor, you sell tickets. Simple as that. Plus, the NBA knows a thing or two about revenue sharing and dependency on national TV contracts and marketing the league/players nationally instead of letting the franchises do all of the marketing.

  8. Why do Lou and the Stiemer have the same dance to celebrate every Berea 3? I love it, regardless.

      1. I've been calling him the Pierzynski of the NBA for a few years. Love him if you got him.

  9. I was really looking forward to watching this game. Even asked the Boy to record. And he said he did. But he didn't. Awesome.
