ZULIA 4, ANZOATEGUI 3 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins: Darin Mastroianni (Zulia) was 1-for-3 with a home run. Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 0-for-3. Bruce Pugh (Anzoategui) faced two batters, striking out one and giving up a hit.

Game summary: Zulia came back from a 3-1 deficit. Freddy Galvis (Philadelphia) hit a two-run double in the fifth to tie the score. The go-ahead run scored in the sixth on a hit batsman, a single, and two walks.

Zulia: Yeiper Castillo (Oakland) pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and no walks.

Anzoategui: Gorkys Hernandez (Miami) was 4-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once. Luis Nunez was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.

LARA 7, ARAGUA 6 IN ARAGUA

Twins: Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. Josmil Pinto (Aragua) was used as a pinch-hitter and was 0-for-1. Dakota Watts (Aragua) pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

Game summary: Aragua scored four in the second, but Lara came back with two in the third and five in the fifth to take a 7-4 lead. Aragua closed to 7-6 in the seventh. They had the tying run on third with one out in the seventh and none out in the eighth.

Lara: Paulo Orlando (Kansas City) was 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice. Alcides Escobar (Kansas City) hit a grand slam.

Aragua: Hector Gimenez was 4-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in four. Alex Romero was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

MAGALLANES 13, LA GUAIRA 4 IN MAGALLANES

Twins: Ray Olmedo (La Guaira) was used as a reserve and was 0-for-1.

Game summary: Magallanes took a 7-1 lead after two innings.

La Guaira: Renny Osuna was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Gregory Infante (Dodgers) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and a walk.

Magallanes: Juan Rivera was 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Jesus Flores was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and scored twice.

CARACAS 10, MARGARITA 1 IN CARACAS

Game summary: Caracas built a 5-1 lead after five, then scored five in the seventh.

Margarita: Matt Clark (San Diego) was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Jackson Melian was 2-for-3.

Caracas: Guillermo Moscoso (Colorado) pitched five innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits and no walks. Franklin Gutierrez (Seattle) was 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a double, and a walk, scoring twice and driving in five.
